thanks all, i will take carb off and clean it, i cleaned it once before about 7 yrs ago. was hoping i wouldnt have to the atv is so old if i break or loose a part mite not be able to get a new one.
Is it a 200 Big Red? If so I still have one and it's just a matter of sailing the carb overnight after you take it apart. Then blow all the jets out with carb cleaner and be careful not to break the rubber gasket. They still make rebuild kits for it that you can find online. Also make sure your tank isn't rusting. You may need to install a fuel filter if so. They also make plastic tanks to fit the model.
Pour about 4 ounces of sea foam in the gas tank and it will probably clean out the gunk out of the carb and run right. That's what I did for my 4 wheeler and I had no more problems. It also works on chainsaws too.
