Auction score! - MF Planter

Been watching for a planter for about a year and finally hit one.

Massey #39 two row planter. It has a fertilizer box but its been long gone as the hopper and the auger are toast. The rest of the unit has only surface rust, I figured I'd go to maybe $500 on it at the auction, but bidding was not there, (and I was scared I was overlooking something) but maybe the wasted hopper chased some away. Ended up with $40 for it. Got it home hooked it up, dumped in a bag of sunflower seeds and it worked!

So its going to be a nice winter restore and ready for work in the spring.

Update, got the fertilizer hopper off last night and started to sand blast the frame..it looks like it will be easy work.

I'll correct the first post today and add the pictures soon.

Willing to spend $500 and end up getting it for $40, now that's a great buy! :thumbsup:
