Another (and I promise the last) view

I sure hope hope not, Neil! I wanna see more! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

This really enhances my enjoyment of TBN -- seeing up close and personal how folks from other parts of the world live. The pictures make you seem that much more like a neighbor, Neighbor! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Now then, how 'bout some more visuals from our Canadian friends, and you Englanders and German types? /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Thanks Neil, I especially enjoyed your pictures, my grandfather was born in Rockhampton in 1896 and came to the states in 1914. I wondered what it looked like. Still have cousins in NZ. Your plants and trees look very interesting. Is the soil good for gardening? How about water? Do you have good wells? Does the landscaping need alot of care? Is brick a prefered building material? Do you have local supplies of lumber?

I don't have any expectations of traveling outside the USA again, but if I did, Australia and New Zealand would be the first places I would want to visit.

My wife has a 90 year old aunt, retired second grade school teacher, in Camarillo, CA, and she goes on a trip somewhere every summer; up the Amazon River, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, etc.; must be fun.

John

I was going to get a removable centre post for the shed but didn't bother. I have hit the roller door on the way out, the canopy on the hilux is so high I forget to open the door all the way up.

Hillbilly - I had the shed built when we bought this place. The house was here, and no my toys don't live in the house garage, they are now in the shed !!

Treeboon, you are almost a Rockhampton local in that case !!
Soil here is rubbish as we are on top of a ridge, the soil down lower is better. We get hardly any rain here, but these photos were when we moved in and it was green then. We are on town water, but have a dam for the gardens. Brick is used almost 100% here. Cheap and no maintenance.

Thanks for your comments all, it is interestting to see how the other half (or in TBN's case the other 99%) in the US live !

Cheers

Yes Ron, unfortunately us Aussies get stereotypes by a lot of the crappy movies we make or are made about us.

We do have some kangaroos around here being rural, but no they don't live in the cities !

As for rabbits, yes they are a pest but around here we have hares which are bigger, like a small dog !!

We have ducks, geese and lots of birds. Also snakes, lizards etc.

Cheers

PS - And lots of frogs as attached !!
