rtimgray, don't assume it is the shocks. Get under it and findout whats wrong with it..

My tail gate chirps, my doors creak and I ache. LOL
I do believe it is all age related. (Golden years?)

For doors I dab grease every so often, and for the tail gate well riding in back while somebody else drives still has not found the problem (and I have had the tail gate apart 3 times and each time I think I have cured the problem.)
Oh, 2002 GMC Jimmy with mere 60,000 miles.
As I said, old age.

Heck, ford wants to give me $3000. for my clunker.

Also think it is the rear end locks and releases.
Have a friend that bought a Mercdedes real cheap because the engine knocks when driving.
he brought it to me for help in repairing. The motor mount was bad and every step on foot feed it knocked.
Dealer ship gave him large $# to repair. took about 10 min. at curb side. + replacement mount.

I do this for a living and a lot of those have limited slip rear ends I would check and see if its a limited slip if so change the fluid and add the LS additive. hth

Is there a brand you would recommend for this? It requires 80w-90 lubricant for the differential. I'm not familiar with a kind with a LS additive (I assume LS is for "limited slip").
Thanks for the input.

You are welcome and the additive is specially for limited slip it changes regular 90 wt (yes either 80-90 or 90 is fine 80-90 is better for most areas fwtw) to LS and any parts house will have it its just a small bottle.

It may take a week or so for it to start working so give it a chance and do sharp turns both ways to work it in between the clutch plates in the LS unit. good luck

So just to clarify, the LS additive is a separate bottle, not blended in with the gear oil already - is that correct?

Thanks again.

That is correct a separate bottle it always has been that way every manufacture has their own but they are all similar and you can get some @ O'reilys its made by champion a 4oz bottle is $6.50 and is for using plain gear lube. (for instance)

However you can use the synthetics like royal purple 80-90, 75-140 and it is says it is good for all differentials its $9.00 a quart so that's what you are looking for just read the label and if it says good for LS diff's you should be good to go just need to figure how much you want to spend either will be fine. good luck
