Autumn

Another season has ended and autumn has started..darker than tar paper outside,and the air 65F..humd 90%..birds are flocking together..wildlfe coats are turning..mowing has all about come to end,and the leaves are getting ready to fall..last two season days flew by like flock of geese heading south..I guess its true the older you get the faster it goes,so don't wish the days away./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Glad to see the summer over, Thomas. Gone are the hot and humid days, the lawn mowing and the dadblasted SKEETERS. Wed,thur and Fri, we got 10 inches of rain here. Boy did that ever break the drought! Ground is so wet that it could bog down a snipe.

I am glad to see fall come. My summer was lost, with the baby coming in July. I was hoping that I would be in my new house by now, but that was not to be./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif Good news, they start digging for the house on wed, and hopfully we will be in before snow. I am REALY looking foward to my new life next year. New house, new town, new baby, and hopfully a new tractor./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Cooler weather does add a spring to ones steps, doesn't it? I made a similar remark at work last night about how the cool fronts moving through are uplifting to the spirits. I love it because the hot days of summer are almost gone. I really enjoy spring and fall and fall is the best of the two.

Now if only that hurricane down there in the gulf will go on into Mexico and leave us alone here on the gulf coast....

autumn is my favorite time of the year, cool weather, beautiful colors, all the critters running about getting ready for the long winter, i burn up my vaca time in the fall. taking off at 1 am on oct 24th dont come back til dec, 24th. spend time on the tractor, cleaning up leaves, gettin stuff ready for winter, but mostly with my hunting buddies in the woods. love gettin into my tree stand about an hour before 1st light , watching the world wake up. neat to be so close to wild life, and they not have a clue. some times armed with nothing more than a video camera...maybe ill get lucky this year and see some nice antlers , recently took up upland game bird hunting with my lab. what a treat it is watching a dog with a good nose work a field.
