The stock alternator is about 15 amps. I upgraded to a 40 amp unit prior to installing the lights.

Nice looking installation, I'll bet that set of lamps gives you all the light that you'll ever need. You didn't drill any holes in your ROPS did you? Never mind pretend I never asked that question.

My first choice would have been inside the ROPS. The problem is that it would only have illuminated (and cooked) the back of my head. My next choice would have been on top and toward the center. However, that would have made them too high to get through the garage door. I did try smaller units that would clear the door, but I wasn’t happy with the light pattern.
So, as with all such projects, it's a series of compromises. I don't currently have any mature trees or anything that is likely to damage the lights, but I know it could well happen sometime down the road.

I love your website. Looks like you have a nice spread there.
After reading all the opinions on ROPS drilling, and the real and imagined economic and legal consequences of same, I decided to do it because: 1. It does not measurably weaken the structure, and 2. I can’t stand the look of wiring tacked onto the outside. I prefer a "cleaner" installation.

Nice looking light install KillerB. Very clean. I see you and I have just about the same number of hours on our B7610's. How long have you had yours? I've had mine since June '04....... Only 47hrs!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I gotta find a way to get more seat time! lol

Nice tractor you have. My "tractor story" is that while growing up I used to spend my summers at my grandparent’s farm in north central Michigan. My earliest and fondest memories are of my granddad and his two cylinder JD's. When he would stand next those towering beasts, open the petcocks and throw the flywheel, I thought he was the most extraordinary man alive. I guess I still do.
For some possibly related reason, I have always been drawn like a magnet to internal combustion engines and machinery in general. I love the smells, the sounds, and all that potential energy going kinetic. When I decided to give in and blow a wad on a diesel I didn't really need, I freely admitted I was just indulging a little mental regression. I must say, it has worked. I really enjoy operating this little guy. And, or course, work does get done, which is also nice.
So what was your question again? Oh yea, I got mine just before Labor Day, 2004.
