Just looking to see if anyone has mounted an axe on there tractor anywhere. It seems like it could be a useful addition while working out in the woods along with the chainsaw. Thanks in advance for any input.
I can't even think what one would use an Axe for anymore. I use a sledge for wedges. I last used an Axe for cutting roots but found a sawzall works better with less dirt in your hair!
That's a cool idea, I will tune up the old google machine and give it a search. John_Mc had a nice idea to with the scabbard. Thanks!!!
I have a couple of Fiskars and like them very much..
X2!
I have the Fiskars X25 Splitting axe. It's great for splitting wood with an axe. If I did more of it by hand, I'd probably have an X27. My maul rarely leaves the tool shed anymore. I generally split either a half or a full cord (4'x4'x8' stacked) by hand each year. The rest I split with a hydraulic splitter - it's nice being able to just throw the gnarly ones in the splitter pile, or in the bonfire pile.
