It was the Yankee Lady from the Yankee Air Museum in Michigan. Cost is pricey at $400 but with I think only about 6 left flying in the world I considered it a once in a lifetime opportunity. I know it created one of those "forever" type memories for my daughter so as the commercial says, priceless.

Each or did this cover both of you?

How long was the flight?

You just missed the "Commander and Chief" the day before. I got caught in a road block as his motorcade made it's way to that very airport where the B-17 is parked at the Yankee Air Museum. They have incredible air shows out of that airport too. The Blue Angels streak right by my house days before the air show as they practice. Awesome sight.

Your might have seen me. I was the guy out mowing his grass. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I had to search but, I found a picture I took of the B-17, "909" from the Collings Foundation. I took this shot from the waist gunners window on the B-24 from the same group.
Of course this is if I can attatch the pic.

I think this was a pennant game. I got this leaning way out the waist gunners window. I can't remember who the Red Sox were playing that afternoon.

This is the "Golden Girl" B-24 that the shots were taken from.
Note the spoiler in front of the waist gunners window. There was hardly any buffeting when I leaned out for the pics.

400 each. They say the typical flight lasts 30 mins in the air. Ours was a bit longer. We were actually in the plane for about 2 hours. Half the time was spent taxiing back and forth from the runway while they fixed engine #3. There was a problem with the magneto. There weren't any complaints from the occupants inside the plane. They could take as long as they wanted to fix the engine before we left the ground /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I see your in south pa. You might want to take a ride up to Reading this weekend. MidAtlantic Air Museum is having their annual WWII weekend. Beside the B-17 they will also have numerous other WWII warbirds including the B-24, B-25, B-29 (first time I have ever seen one at an airshow), P-38, P-47, P-51, P-61 (extremely rare, currently being restored) to mention a few. Paul Tibbetts (Enola Gay pilot) and the pilot of the Memphis Belle will also be there along with some Tuskegee airmen. Not limited to planes either, there will also be tanks, halftracks, jeeps etc.

That sounds like them. I caught up with them in Reading, PA.

I have seen the Blue Angels a few times and they are just incredible.
