Lots, anything in particular?

The boulder in this shot was too much for it, I could just lift it enough to drag it along the ground.

Phew! That's good. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I guess it has to do with the light in the first pic.

Well, here are more questions! Thanks for the photos of the control. There has been discussion of this before, but I hadn't seen a photo before.

This setup looks very professional. Was the joystick control part of the 4-in-1 package? The lower photo seems to show 2 buttons. Is that right, and if so, is the other button also in use, or just there for other applications?

This next one is a little harder, because I'm depending on memory and I'm not an expert on this. I remember reading on some thread that using the curl/dump valves (?) for the grapple function (in that thread) had been a problem because those valves have some feature (regenerative?) to control the bucket dump. I apologize if I'm mangling this, but my question is that I thought that you would need to use the FEL up and down controls in order to be able to apply the clamp-down force. Or do I have this turned around? It wouldn't be the first time.

Thanks again.

Rolando,

The joystick was not part of the 4-in-1 package, and it does have two buttons, both are wired together now, but you could control a 4th function with the second button.

I believe I read the same thread you're referring to about the regenerative "issue". With mine, you move the joystick all the way to the right with the button pushed, past the indent, to open the bucket. To close, go the left with the button pushed. It takes some time to get used to it to avoid "erratic" behaviour.

Originally it was plumbed to operate in reverse (right close, left open), with this set-up you had to go past the indent to apply full closing force, which I found awkward. However, this configuration provided smoother operation.

I never did understand why that particular poster was forced to use the up/down motion to control his 3rd function. I don't know what affect that would have on his float position?

I apologize for my ignorance, but what does 'indent' mean? Was the impact of the two different ways you wired the controls that previously you had a range of motion in opening the bucket, but closing it was one set motion? Where as now opening the bucket is one motion, but you can control how much the bucket is closing?

Also, can you tell us the brand of the joystick? I'm assuming that this joystick replaced the one that came with the FEL. I want to be prepared to discuss this with my dealer. I wouldn't want to have a switch assembly that gets attached to the Kubota joystick, although I don't know that they would want to do it this way.

I think that the deal with the other poster was that the regenerative function would dampen the clamping down motion so that full force couldn't be applied on closing up the bucket.

That is about the nicest divertor switch handle I have ever seen!

I read "indent" to mean the same thing as "detent", or a little groove where the stick stops, and if you push a little harder, you can push it further again.

indent = detent (thanks qqq)

Rolando,

The way I have it set now (right open, left close) allows me to feather the closing of the bucket right up to full pressure, which is what I wanted. I can not feather the opening of the bucket with this configuration, but I'm not sure when I'd ever require this. It's easy enough to reverse the open/close joystick direction however (swap the two hydraulic hoses), so you can try both configurations.

I'm not sure of the brand of Joystick control the dealer used, but it just threads onto the standard Kubota FEL shaft.

That's what impressed me. It's why I would like to get the manufacturer's name, in case my dealer doesn't know about it.

I think I agree with you. You need the control on closing. It seems that when you want to unload, you'd want to unload completely.

On the name of the knob, any chance you could ask your dealer for the name?
