I have read posts from this website and the normal service is about $600.00 if you have the dealer do it.

I was qouted today by a very reputable dealer the part with labor was $250.00. If they came to my place it would be about $400.00{I live in southern california and the drive time would be about 3 hours}.
Can someone help me figure this out. The parts and lubes should be $250.00. I do know that labor is $67.00/hr.
Is $250.00 possible?
Can someone give me the parts & part numbers required for the 50 hour change on my B7800?{I have ordered a shop manual and part manual, but I will not get them for 3 weeks.}
If this price is correct, I think I should just let them do my service, would you agree?

Oh, I also asked if I could watch while they did the work. I was kinda suspious. I also want to learn, so I can do it next time if need be. They said, that is not a problem. Hum, so much for being suspious. This price just seems WAY to LOW!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

When I did the 50 hour service on my b2910, which has similar, if not the same, filters and fluid capacities as the b7800, cost for materials was less than $80. That was with Kubota filters and UDT, but not SUDT fluid, and an oil change. It took me two to three hours. IMHO, $250 would be a ballpark price for that service around here, don't know about CA. I know if they quoted me $600, I would laugh in disbelief and do it myself.

I have done the 50, 100 and 150 hr service on my B7800 and will be doing the 200 sometime next month. The parts and fluids cost well less than $100, using SUDT.

There is nothing that is difficult to do. 50 hr service takes a bit longer, since you aren't familiar with it yet, but still under 3 hrs and after that, the later ones should go quicker.

Of course, I think that servicing my own tractor is fun, and wouldn't pay someone else to do it, even on the cheap, unless it was a job I didn't feel competent to do. Try, it, you'll like it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
