I have an opportunity to purchase a '99 B1700hsd with 54" belly mowerwith 80 hours for $9000. Is that a good deal?

Also I have an older 78-79 b6100E with original equipment. Does any one have an idea on it's value.

Assuming it is in 80 hour condition, tractor w/mower probably would bring about $10,000-$10,900 depending on location... $9,000 sounds like a nice price for that tractor... Any extras? Canopy, tires, weights, work lights, etc, can change the value... Also look into condition/history of the tractor.

You can compare it to a new model, but the B7400 lacks power steering and position control, while the B1700HSD has both... both very good features to have. New B7400 w/54" mower can be purchased for about $11,500-$12,000, I think... remember, the B1700HSD has more features, more along the lines of what the B2410 offers vs the B7400. Is mowing your primary use?

B6100E tractor only could be worth anywhere between $2,000 (aged, worn, high hours, etc) and $4,000 (cared for, looks good/great, lowish hours, etc) completely depending on condition and options (hydrostatic?)... attachments on top of that.

HTH...

$9,000 for a B1700 with a 54" mid-mount sounds like a "good" price. The B1700's a nice machine with power steering and 3 pt. position control. If it has any other extras, back blade or box, rotary cutter, canopy, filled tires, etc., it would then become a "really good" price. 80 hrs. on the meter is barely broken in. If you're interested in a powerful mowing machine, this sounds like the ticket at a good price.

I don't have a clue what a B6100 might be worth.

I paid about 10K for my new B1700 alone, and another 3K for the front loader, so the price for the tractor and mower sounds good. Also, be sure it is not too tippy for your land. Mine has tall ag tires, and there are plenty of places I can not or will not go on my property because off fear of a rollover.

It has turf tires. It was garaged it's entire life. Only used for mowing.

This deal is sounding even better. 80 hours of mowing only.....probably just one season. Where are you in case you decide not to buy this little jewel?

If you want it... you should probably buy it; the use was probably light... 80 hours of mowing = about 1 season of mowing about 1-2 acres of lawn (I know... that's what I have! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif). Best of luck...
