Hello everyone,
I've been lurking here for some time and enjoyed reading all the post. I was wondering if anyone out there has any experiance with a B1700 Kubota? There is one for sale about a mile from my house with a finish mower front blade and 180 hrs. They want $7600 for it. I have done searches and come up empty for info on this machine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The B1700 is 14 pto horsepower, 17 engine hp. They were sold new from 1995 to 1999. These tractors were available in either 2 or 4 wd and gear or hydrostatic transmission. The B1700 is the same size as the B7510, but less horsepower.

Hi. I've been a happy owner of a B1700 for almost 5 years. Just the right size for my uses and has been very reliable. More power would be nice but it can worked around.
What questions do you have?

Thanks for replying. Well one of my questions you kind of answered regarding power. I was wondering if the 17 hp would be enough to keep me happy. I will be mowing about 6 acres, and want to keep my driveway up. About 900 ft. Was also wondering about using a FEL. My guess is that it would handle small gardening projects ie moving a little top soil, but not much else. Any other feedback would be great. Thanks for replying.

Plainice.. I wouldn't underestimate the power of the B1700. But for your needs you probably would want something in the 25+ hp range. 6 acres and 900ft of driveway is quite a bit. I have a B7300 with a FEL and it is 16hp. It can handle quite a bit of work... it just takes a little longer than with a larger tractor.

Good Luck!

The B1700 has the same engine as the BX2200 and BX22. Kubota just ramped up the RPM's to 3200 to get a higher horsepower rating for the BX class. I doubt that the higher RPM's generate that much more torque, if any. The BX22's torque rating is 40.5 ft.\lbs. That said, my BX22 has plenty of engine power (torque) and it probably weighs a couple hundred pounds more than the B1700. I'll bet the B1700 has higher hydraulic ratings than the BX, too. I wouldn't be worried about the engine in the B1700 -- a proven design and it's plenty strong enough.

I have 5 acres and I use my B1700 at almost 4300 feet of altitude, (1300 metres), so my power level is down quite a bit from most areas. I have the 54" mmm and have never even heard the engine labor when mowing, regardless of grass length or density, so I'd have to say that the machine is an awesome mower with the advantage of ground clearance and the ability to run the mmm suspended or on it's casters. I have also used my 4ft rotary mower on grass taller than the hood without any trouble.

I have about 600ft of driveway that I plow with a 5 ft backblade. The snow has to be at least a foot deep to slow it down as long as I'm not going uphill. My slope is only a few degrees but it is enough to slow the machine at full throttle.

I have a 4ft bucket on the FEL and it is adequate for most uses. Larger would be better of course, but it is handy for tight spots.

A B2410 or equivalent machine would be nice but my B1700 has worked great for over 600 hours. It uses about 1 imperial gallon per hour of fuel at full throttle. Like everyone says, it just takes a little longer to do something which sometimes can be more fun!
