B20 Backhoe

Yesterday I posted a note about a price I was quoted on a B20 with FEL. This one is used and has about 900 hours on it and is in nice condition. The asking price was $12,500. He also said he could add a used backhoe for $2,000 more.

What might the value of a used backhoe be?

Muhammad said he thought the price was high for the tractor and FEL. Would the price be more in the ballpark with the backhoe added or do you guys think I can go quite a bit lower?

I read your other post and agreed with Muhammad, (didn’t want to lose my forum membership/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif) I thought it was a little high for a B20 with 900 hrs. I do think the backhoe is worth $2000 and besides that it can’t be used on anything but a B20 so I don’t know why they would sell them individually. I looked at a B20 for $14,000 with 600 hours 3 years ago. That being said, I looked and looked for a used B20 or B21. There just is not that many around in my area. The only ones I could find were rental units or hard worked construction units. I did finally find a 1-year-old, very clean B21 with 400 hrs but paid a premium price, in retrospect, of $19,000. If you could get the price down another $1500 I think you would be closer to the prices in my area.

In your other post you outlined the plans you have for a tractor. I thought I would add that I do everything you mentioned, except mow, and the B21 handles it all well. A B20 with 900hrs has a lot of years left in it, if it has been maintained well. Guess it all gets down to what the prices are in your area. Good luck and let use know what you do.

I agree with you, I guess I can make the offer and see what happens. If not I guess I'll keep looking.

I wasn't really looking for a backhoe but having one would be really handy.

Is it a BT650 or BT750 backhoe? The 750 is more desirable (digs deeper)... a couple issues with the auto return feature not working... I believe some people disable it. Don't have an FAQ on that, really.

Knock $1,000 off the price and it should be reasonable with the backhoe.
