B21 Battery Replacement

Does anyone know a part number for or where to get a B21 battery? Mine is a 2005 battery and seems to be weak.

I may try to find a longer battery that will fit in the narrow battery tray.

Has anyone installed two batteries in parallel for twice the amperage. The B21 has a small alternator (40A, 480W) and small battery (36Ah). It could benefit from the extra capacity for any electrical load.

Batteries are generic. Just measure it and figure out how many cranking amps you want and go order one from your battery supplier of choice.

My last B21 battery came off the rack at the auto store. That was about 3 years ago.

I bought a 51R-4 battery at Walmart for about $60. The B21 starts much faster now.

The terminals were on the opposite side of the battery so I slid the battery forward and reversed the metal bracket that locks it down.

A group 51 versus the 51R (reversed terminals) would have been the correct one, but as long as it fits and the + terminal clears all is well. A group 45 is virtually the same dimensions, but one of them; either the 51 or the 45 has not needed, but usually not in the way protrusions for side hold downs that some cars use instead of the top hold downs.
