Buying Advice B2320 Grass/Leaf Vac advice

One thing to consider when purchasing a PTO vac for a 2X20 Kubota......... it was discussed when these came out that when the mid PTO is engaged, the rear then turns @ 1080. So...... a PTO leaf vac designed for a 540 rear PTO will now be spinning at TWICE the speed it was designed for. I would have to assume this is why Kubotas bagger will not work on a 2X20 series tractor.

There is an adjustment on the new B's to switch the rear between 960 and 540. You can't run just the mid-pto all by itself on these models. The rear will either be 960 or 540 when the mid is running.

After 42 years of testing it out i've concluded this works best for leaves and grass cuttings.
Just leave them lay.
Price and ease of use can't be beat either.

I am from the same school, the mow them and let them go back to nature, but with some trees or bunches of them, it isn't always good to do that. When I purchased this home, there was a little more than a foot of leaves under the oak tree out front that had to be dealt with.
Judging from the previous posters pricing on yard vacs, and the fact that my friend still hasn't sold the Giant Vac that I sold him, if anyone is interested in a Giant Vac pull behind, shoot me a email or PM and I will see if he is interested in taking less money for it.

In my case, BX23 + Cyclone Rake + grass clippings + leaves = fresh dark brown compost in less than a yr. It's free, very benefitial to any and everything I plant and is even "green" :D

Kubotafan, an FEL is a MUST for turning the pile, good observation.
I never mow with the FEL & BH mounted.....
I normally turn the pile weekly but with the lack of rain lately I've been turning every other week, trying to let the inside "cook" alittle longer. Water, and especially rain water really gets the pile cook'n.

Now one can turn the pile manually with a pitchfork or shovel but that'll take alot longer, especially since it grows weekly to bi-weekly, and it would probably give one a very sore back.....

In the pic, the nice dark brown compost in the forefront is grass clippings and leaves from the previous mowing season. It cooked all through the cutting season and on through the winter. It was ready to use the day I took the pic which was sometime in mid to late March.

You may also notice that I'm starting a new pile with the 1st bagging of the new season in the background.
This compost has been a Godsend to my veggie garden and the Mrs's flowers.

When I sold my BX, I turned the compost pile by hand for a while. What was an hour,or so of fun became several hours of not so fun very quickly. The other day when I was turning it, and moving it with the loader on my B2620 I just smiled at the memory. Life sure is good with a loader!
