Oil & Fuel B2400 Fuel Cap

My fuel cap won't tighten on to the fuel tank. I can't determine whether the cap is at fault or the tank, there doesn't appear to be any obvious thread damage. Has any one else had this problem?

I have a 13 year old B2400 and never have had this problem. Always make sure not to overtighten the cap. Your problem could be a combination of wear on both the cap and tank threads. I would try a new cap.

Thanks, I will try a new cap as it's the cheaper option. I think the previous owner must have crossthreaded it at some stage.

Wow porkchop, I have the same problem. I am going to purchase a new cap as well. Its seems to me that my cap bell mouthed and over rides threads on tank. Fuel vapors do it to plastic as well.
