It was running fine then died slowly and now won't do anything?

When was the last time the fuel filter was changed?

What year is the tractor if you know, how many hours are on it, what were you doing when it died. When you say slowly died, did it sputter, go up and down in rpm's, puff black smoke, white smoke, blue smoke, was it like you just turned off the key? When you say now it wont do anything. Will it not turn over?

We need more info otherwise we are just throwing darts blindfolded.
