Ok ,it was shuttering a bit last night while blowing snow and seemed to loose power. Put it in the garage for the night. Today it starts fine but as soon you you let off the clutch it stalls out. Even in neutral. Parking brake is off. I tried this in low gear, high gear, and neutral. Shuts down like its loaded up, or over taxing it with a load.No way to let off the clutch without stalling it out. Tranny fluid is up. Any ideas?

Check both your mid and rear PTO levers for off positions.

If it does it in neutral, then I'd guess at either a mechanical failure at the transmission side of the clutch, like a seized bearing, or an electrical failure that is keeping the clutch pedal safety switch engaged (the one that prevents starting with the clutch out). Since it seemed to lose power last night, I'd lean toward a transmission/clutch problem. Either that, or it's something extremely simple that I'm not thinking about.

I did fiddle around and got it in gear but it makes a bad shutter noise and goes very slow in both gears. Forward and reverse pedal really vibrates when pressure is applied. Almost a grinding noise. This cannot be good,,, or cheap.

<font color="red"> as soon you you let off the clutch it stalls out. You might try changing the hydraulic filter and cleaning the suction screen. I wonder if one of the output shaft support bearings has gone bad. If that's the case the next question is why. Did your PTO speed have trouble as well? My guess is yes.

Ow!!! The hydrostatic pump failed. $2000.00 for the part, $1200.00 labor. Merry Christmaas to me. Anyone heard of this failure before? Only 540 hours on it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif My wife is gonna flip.
