Kubota B2400
Went out to plow the bit of snow we got this morning. After about 20 minutes of plowing, I hit a bump and heard a brief scraping sound from under the hood. Soon after, I smelled glycol. There is a slow leak from the rad. It looks like the mice stored a bunch of hickory nuts around the radiator, and one must have hit the fan blade and then the rad.

Called the local Kubota dealer, $1600 for a new radiator!
A quick search of other dealers and they have similar pricing.
They said they weren't sure if it could be recored.

I haven't had a chance to take a close look at it, but I would think it could be repaired or recored.

Yes, of course find a radiator shop and I am confident they can repair it. A $1600 radiator is absurd. For that kind of price you instead hire a metal fabrication shop to adapt an inexpensive other radiator from a small car or other tractor to fit the space and make up the hoses.

Yep- the guy at the repair shop said he's not sure if it can be repaired due one of the punctures being located near the plastic end. Should know in a few days.

Saw a guy on YT fix one with epoxy, I'd rather not do that.

Try an internet search with the Kubota part number.
You may find something on E-bay or other?
Good Luck!

Mice are a menace. I leave my tractor hood open all the time, the light and open space deters them a little. I check the radiator screen every time I use it. We've had no end of problems with mice, they chewed the wiring harness for the fuel injection system out of our car, that cost $700. Hope you find a cheap replacement.

I know prices have gone up, But I got a custom two core all aluminum radiator for my MX for less than $1000 from a custom shop. Cannot believe an OEM plastic/aluminum is that much.

Heck, big radiators like in the F450 trucks of the 2003-2007 vintage (I have changed a few) are only $250 bucks at napa and those have a trans cooler.
Gotta be one heck of a profit margin on those tiny little radiators at $1600 a pop

I think it's the old supply VS. demand situation.

IE. There is enough demand for Ford F series replacement radiators (of all models) to cause some competition, unlike Kubota B2400 radiators!

The F series pickups are on the roads & highways by hundreds of thousands every day and many radiators are wrecked each day so there is a demand.

On the other hand, it creates a story on TractorByNet forum when a mouse causes damage in one B2400 radiator in Bucks County, PA

Just saying......

Never understood why people don't use cats. I have 3 cats and I have found them camped out where my tractor and side by side are parked. Haven't seen any mice yet.

I have seen a few other feral or neighbors cats roaming around my property. The more the merrier.

The issue with later model Kubota rads is the fact that the top and bottom tanks are plastic and they are 'sonically welded' to the cores and 99% of rad shops are incapable of fixing them.

Actually, how most rads are made today.

Think I'd shop around for a better price.

We've got 2 cats and the neighbor has 5. Maybe our cats are lazier or our mice are smarter.

Don't feed them cat food. They will hunt.
Does that work with children? Just the savings on milk could fund a nice retirement.

1600 is quite silly for a near generic type of radiator. Quick internet search has drop in replacements for $600 or so, as previously mentioned, and there are form factor radiators that should work, available for under $200 that can be modified to fit with a little fabrication.
Dealers, me thinks, are slow to understand that there is a re-resurgence in DIY, and using local shops to get stuff done. The CUT market seems to have morphed in to the same old market used in the marine industry. They just see their customers as having an excess of disposable income. :)
