BUD: i have mentioned before on a different thred that i can not reverse my blade, it has the capability to reverese but when i try to do it it hits my 3 pt arms and i can't reverse it./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif ithink this particulsr blade is to high(mouldboard) and to wide for me to do it. would love to be able to reverse it. am seriously thinking of cutting it so i can reverse it.
chris: i replyed to your post, but i will state again i do not have chains, and the R4'S are great, as i am plowing on concrete i don't think r1 or chains would help much. when i start to spin, i just raise the bucket a bit and keep going, have to make a few extra passes, but sure beats shoveling. and i start just by lowering the bucket and pull out of the garage. see attachment. this photo was taken while i was sipping coffee and wainting for tractor to warm up/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Frank,
I had that blade on my tractor, and I have a B2400. I'll admit the blade will have little clearence when you try to turn it. If you lower the blade close to the ground it will pass under the lower links. You may have to shorten the upper link a bit. When you turn it you may have to lift on the back of the blade so the front clears the lower links. I cannot raise my Woods blade near as high as I could the one you have. Makes it nice for pushing the top of a pile back.
Give it a try, I think it will work for you. I know your blade will take more punishment than the Woods I have.

Frank,
Don't cut the blade, I think you will find the tractor will handle it once you get it turned 180 degrees. If I was going to cut anything, I would cut down about an inch from the top on the outside of the blade, and taper it back 6 or 8 inches toward the center of the blade.
Bud
I have to do the same thing in order for me to turn my back blade 180 degrees - lower it until it almost hits the ground, and shorten the top link. If you have a high spot in your driveway, it helps to have your rear wheels at the crest of a high spot, so you can lower your blade more than you would be able to if you were on flat ground (hope that explanation makes sense..). Good luck.
bud: i will try that and see if it will turn( when i get a chance) when i said i migh cut it is thinking of cutting it smilar to what you describe. u also state that "YOU HAD THAT BLADE ON YOUR TRACTOR" DO U KNOW WHAT MAKE IT IS? i can find nothing on it, but it is pretty well made.
THOMAS: I WAS alitle to busy to set up the tripod to take (action photos/w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif and no u are not the only one who loves his coffee/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif altho much coffee+ cold = MANY WORK STOPAGES./w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif very cold here this morning 9 deg. but bright and sunny, did a litttle cleaning up and pushed snow farther back on the lawn( have to make room for more)
corm: my drive is concret, but i could back to the edge and a lot of my lawn slopes away so that would probably accomplish the same thing.try it as soon as i have time and some of the snow departs.
