I have located a B2410HST 4x4 with LA352 bucket. This is the model that has the tight turn feature. It has 60 hours and the dealer wants $14,500. I can also get a B7500 elsewhere for $12,500 but I would have to go farther to get it. Is the B2410 worth that much more? What should I offer on the B2410? Thanks.

I don't know how much the bi-speed turn adds on, but I've been quoted a new 2410 for about that price. Don't forget that special financing deals may only apply to new tractors.

As far as whether or not it's worth the extra, only you can decide that. The 2410's FEL will lift about 100 lbs more, you get 2 more hp, and you get position control. Everything else is pretty much the same. The question you ask yourself is "Do I need (want) that extra stuff for the projects I want to do. If you're not sure, search this site to get more information.

My opinion, based on what I've read and not from actual experience, is that the 7500 will do pretty much everything the 2410 will do, but the 2410 has a slight edge for dirt/gravel work, because of the aforementioned reasons. For the difference in price you could get top-n-tilt and probably a tiller for the 7500 though.

That's a pretty close call. While the B4210 has a slight edge in the "advertised power", a comparison of the HP curves indicates that the B7500 actually produces more HP at a few points. Torque curves give the B2410 a distinct advantage of about 4ft-lbs.

They are on essentially the same frame.

With only 60 hours, it is essentially new. If it is coming from a dealer, see if they will pro-rate the warranty (or something). I might go that route.

As I stated before, I think that PC is sometimes over-rated, but it can make a big difference in some circumstances.

Thanks to both of you for your advice. You make valid points. Having money for the extra attachments is maybe the best suggestion. Also the torque range being similar helps. I do have some time on my hands. When can you get the best deals now, next winter, or next spring.

I would imagine that it depends on what part of the country you are in, and "what's happening" in the market. That said, around here, the "busy time" is January-April for our local Kubota/NH dealer (as he told me; people are gearing up). So at least in the North California area, the best time might be in after the fall harvest, but before people start gearing up for the next season. Say, October/November?
