Hi all,
Thought I would report on the first use of the MMM on my B2410. My newly seeded lawn had finally reached the point where it was really starting to look shaggy and needed "a little off the top".
I took the time to grease all the zirks on the mower and pto shaft even though in theory the dealer had done that and the mower has never been used. Better safe than sorry. Had to drop the tiller off the 3PH to be all ready to use the mower. Used the tractor to skid the mower from the shed to the garage pad to have a nice level surface to work on. I used the FEL to lift the front of the tractor off the ground. It was not too hard to slide the mower under the tractor.
I was actually really impressed with how easy it was to line up the linkage to connect the mower. It only took about 2 or 3 minutes to connect the lift mechanism and the front bracket. But then came the time to connect the PTO shaft /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif.
I struggled with that for several minutes from the sides of the tractor. I found it impossible to line up the shaft, push it backwards onto the PTO and press the sleeve towards the front of the tractor....all with limited access from the sides. Finally I slid under the rear of the tractor, reached up and in about 2 seconds had the shaft on. Guess I know how I'll do it from now on!!!
I was relatively pleased with the cut, although since the lawn is still patchy and not completely filled in, it's hard to get a really good idea of the finished product. A 60" mower deck sure makes short work of the mowing though! Wow.
All in all, I think the MMM looks like it will be very good and not that much of a pain to put on/off. On a scale of 1 to 10....I'll go with an 8.
