3-Point Hitch B26 3-point hitch "lift point" definition and moving a 5th-wheel

A small tractor is really not a good tool to move a heavy trailer. The hitch point should be in close - and lower than the axle center if possible, like on a draw bar. A box-type 5th wheel attaches high and moves the attachment point back, affecting balance and the tractor's steering for pulling and braking. Could be really nasty for the operator if the front of the tractor lifted.

I have several questions please:

1. Has anyone tried moving a 5th-wheel trailer with their 3-point hitch on a B26 (or any tractor for that matter)? I'm looking at buying a 3-point trailer hitch and then modifying it to accept the 5th-wheel pin. I tried using the loader but the loader isn't strong enough to lift the 5th-wheel.

If you are just going straight forward and back maybe but with how high 5th wheels are on the hook up I would not even try it as the center of gravity will be high and it could just push the tractor over. I have bent 3pt arms before moving dirt going backwards with a box blade on much bigger tractors ( not the tractors fault at all).

What is the pin weight of your RV 5th wheel trailer?

This hitch from Omni mfg, would be easy to put a 5th wheel plate on, but I don't think your tractor is big enough to do much with it.



I use it on the Toolcat to park this gooseneck that has 1000 pounds on the ball.
