I have a B2630 HST. This morning the starter wouldn't motor and thus, the tractor won't start. It did this once before and it was a fuse in the fuse box behind the dash. I checked these and replaced one. Still no starter on the key switch.
I can jump it across the starter and engage it with two screwdrivers and it starts fine. So, where do I look next? Fusible link? Key switch?
Gentlemen, your suggestions are welcome.

I have been compiling a list of answers others have given to your question. Here is what I have so far hopeful one will correct your problem.

Nothing happens when you turn the key

Check battery under load
Check all starter connections (including grounds) for corrosion and tightness
Check fuses
Safety switches (seat, PTO, neutral switch)
Make sure in Park/Neutral HST pedals in neutral position/centered
Make sure you have power at the starter and solenoid
Make sure the starter soleniod is good.

I think it might be one of the "safety switches". I've isolated the ones under the seat but there's supposedly one for the pto in neutral. That one I can't find. Anyone know where I might look?

Yeah gotta be a switch, check all the terminals at the switches, they sometimes work loose...not sure where the PTO switch is though...

Hydro pedal. Rock it easily until it finds its home. A possibility and commonly known issue. There is a neutral safety switch on this mechanism.

Quick follow-up. Thanks for the advice. I went to the dealer and he couldn't tell me exactly where the safety switches were located. I pulled the deck under the seat and found the little buggers. The front-mid pto wasn't properly striking the switch; its bent somehow.
No big deal. Snip, snip, rubber tape, problem solved.

I'm not the safety police but in the extremely unlikely event of a serious accident where some one is injured due to the switch by pass it's usually the job of your insurance company to maximize profits and get out of paying. Something to ponder anyway.

My biggest concern would be in a roll over. You get ejected from the seat and the mower or implement doesn't turn off you may not only get crushed but chopped up or mangled. That's one safety switch I would not disable
