b2710-how to adjust heavy HST pedal ?

Hi,
I noted on the 'oil & lube' board that there is a known fix for my heavy-unresponsive hydro pedals ? Can someone in the know share the fix with me ? Thanks

HST pedal slow to return to neutral

I have a B2150 and think that I have a similar problem. Particularly in forward, the pedal is slow to return to neutral and the tractor creeps forward. Sometimes I tap the reverse pedal to stop. I tried lubing the zirc fitting with no sucess. Will watch to see what others recommend. Good luck and good post!

I think it is real easy, at least it is on my 1700. There are 2 springs on the HST shaft, each held in place with lock nuts. One spring controls rate of return of the pedal from the forward motion position, and one rate of return from the backward motion position. The owners manual says to adjust these nuts so the springs measure between 42 and 65 millimeters; shorter will give more spring compression and so faster HST pedal action. In my manual, this is listed as an every 100 hour maintanance check.

Oh yeah, there is also a grease fitting for the pedal as it rotates on its mounting shaft. This is supposed to get lubed every 50 hours on my 1700.

Thanks Paul B! Does yours have a rubber boot around it? When I look under there I see something that looks like a mini shock absorber, can't see any springs. Will check and see if the boot or whatever it is slides off.

Will be glad when I finally get my owners manual from kubota so I won't have to ask these basic maintenance questions.
