Kubota B2910
TO ALL

I just wanted to give all of you out there a BIG THNAK YOU for all the good feed back on this Web sight.

After reading through all the e-mail the past two week and going out and look over Compact tractors from the big 4. With all of your wisdom and input it came down to the JD4100 or JD4200 and the Kubota B2410, B2470 and B2910.

Well I just put my hard earned cash down on a new Kubota B2910 with LA402 Loader w/60” bucket, filled rear tires, Bush Hog 60” Air Tunnel ATH600 side discharge finishing rear mower and Bush Hog TRS62-04 Tiller with slip clutch and optional rear work lights all for $19,200 plus tax.

From what I saw on the Web, this was as good a price as I could get. The people out in NC were around the same price but I would have had to add around $700 shipping charge. I also was not comfortable with the tax issue.

The dealer I am buying from is only 20 miles away and they had the new tractor in stock with all the implements I wanted in stock to. They just need to PDI the unit and install the loader and they have it schedule in their shop to do this next Tuesday afternoon. So if all goes well I should have it delivered by next Thursday.

Now I have to show the wife that my plan to buy this tractor was a good investment by landscaping our new 2.5 acres lot. Boy do I have some finish grading to do. So I should be able to pay back what I have learned from this Web sight with some good feed back in the further from my experience with the Kubota B2910.

One more time Thanks to all

Tom R.

Tom -- Don't do like most of us did. Take time for the learning curve before tackling any major projects if this is your first compact. My first week with the old B1750 I forgot about the FEL sticking out front and uprooted an entire row of apple trees while mowing. My first month with the new L3010 I accidentally lowered the level of the driveway by a foot! These things did nothing to convince my wife the investment was wise!

At any rate, enjoy the heck out of your new rig!

Pete

Congratulations!

Don't listen to Boondox, After all, if we didn't do dumb stuff what would our spouses have to talk to us about? Now we can talk and talk and talk. Ahhh marital bliss! ( Just kidding Boondox!/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif)

Are you getting a Box Blade for your landscaping project? I only have ~10 hours using my box blade and in that short time it has shown itself to be a very useful tool for moving dirt from here to there. It can even sprinkle it about in a uniform layer. There are some good tips on what to choose and how to use them if you search around in the past posts.

Enjoy the anticipation,
John Bud

Congratulatons Tom!

You won't be sorry. I've had my 2910 for about 100 hours now (about 7 months). I've moved hundreds of yards of dirt, cleared many many acres of brush, moved thousands of pounds of brush to a burn pile, done amazing earth smoothing, used it as a platform to trim trees, moved 20+ very large stumps, moved hundreds of pounds of trash, and so on. I'm now to the point of wondering how I ever lived without one. I'm still as excited to jump on the 2910 as I was 100 hours ago and I don't expect it to change.

My only recommendation is to make sure you buy the Hydraulic T&T right off the bat. You still have buying power from the dealer before you take delivery (but make sure you get the "removed parts" too). It will add about $700 to your total cost package and will save you many hours of work and add unmeasurably to your productivity and pleasure.

Congratulations on the new rig/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.
Glad you selected orange I don't think you will have any regrets. Now would be a great time to ask your dealer if you could have your owners manuals in advance of delivery to start getting familiar with your new rig. It is awfully hard to do after she arrives and you have all those reasons for "seat time".

Thanks LarryT!

All good input. But can I ask one question? What is a T&T
It looks like somthing that I need to add to my tractor order.

TomR, "T&T" is referring to hydraulic "tip 'n tilt" or "top 'n tilt" which means replacing the manual screw type top link and one side link on the 3-point with hydraulic cylinders and a valve to control them. That way you can adjust the front to rear and side to side angle of implements from the seat even when moving. It makes it a little easier to hook up implements because it seems that every time you change implements you have to re-adjust the length of the top link. But what it's really great for is using blades (box or straight) because you can change the angles "on the fly."

Hi Pete

Good info. I am sure that in the first weeks I will be good and safe. I had run backhoes for years and you are correct it is easy to hit somthing with the bucket when you are doing somthing with rear implements. Now I am adding Mowing work with a loader up front so I need to be careful. I hope I do not need to report a sad story of running over one of my cherry trees.
