kubota B2910
I went and done it today. I ordered a B2910,R4 tires loaded,LA402 loader with 4 way valve, heavy duty alternator,W.R.Long tooth bar.For $16,458 delivered.Break down prices- tractor and loader $15988,heavy duty alternator $165,tooth bar $230,delivery $75.Coming from Modern Equipment Co. Johnson City TN about 70 mile trip. Sold my L 2650 two weeks ago. It was just too heavy for my yard.I quit using it for landscaping and thought I would go smaller and lighter. Also I wanted HST after hearing so much about it on this forum. My wife went with me to look at them. I started out looking at the BX2200 then the B2410 which I liked a lot. While I was setting on the 2410 she got on the B7800 and says this one is 30 horse power that one is only 24. I think maybe you need this one. They did not have a B2910 so I explained too her what you got extra on it .So she said thats the one to get. Plus it was only 1128 dollars more than the B7800. I also got 0 %interest. That way I can save the money I got for my L2650. I just made my mind up today at work so my wife did all the E-mailing to order it.

Sounds to me like a good deal and a wise decision. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Bird and Rick Jay ,Thanks for the congrats. Maybe one of you or someone else can help me with a question. Why doesn't the B series have hydrostatic steering? The L Series has it.Even the BX has it.The Bs' have power or like my dealer said power assist with mechanical likage between steering wheel and front wheels. Is one better or worse than the other? My L2650 had hydrostatic steering and I liked it .I hope after I get my 2910 they don't come out with a Grand B SERIES with a lot of extras like hydrostatic steering and other goodies. For a while anyways . Thanks for your time and help. I have learned a lot from this forum and every body on it. I don't post much because I can not type and spell even worse. It has taken me forever to put this on. I do enjoy reading the forum very much. So thanks to everyone.

Sorry, can't help you out there. Not sure what hydrostatic steering is, how it works or why it might be better. All I know is that with a bucket full of dirt, I can steer with one finger. I don't see how it could be much better.

I believe most of the B series (possibly all) uses a separate pump for the steering, so that operation of a hydraulic implement does not take power away from the steering. Would hydrostatic steering offer that as well?

I'm just askin', 'cause I don't know.

Rick,

The BX'es use a single pump. There is a priority valve that guarantees that the steering gets fluid before anything else. I'm not sure on any of the others.

Hey don't sell yourself short. Looks to me like you did a pretty good job. Just go for it and say what you want to say. Now the next thing you have to do is post some pictures of that new rig when you get it. Your a lucky guy to have a wife help you make decisions like she did with the tractor. Just don't let her take too much of your seat time thought.

Congrates on the new rig. You'll love it.

I have no idea; they both seem to work just fine.

I think hydrostatic means no linkage going from steering wheel to the front end. Only hydraulic lines connented to a hydraulic cylinder with two rods or pistons, whatever they are called.Which is attached to each front wheel .I quess they push and pull the wheels back and forth. On the B series there must be a power steering pump like on cars and trucks.I hope my 2910 steers as easy as my L2650 did. Like Rick Jay said I could turn the wheel with one finger.I believe this is my only concern with the B2910. I think all the newer Bs and Ls have dual pumps except for the B7400 which does not have any kind of power steering. My 1996 L2650 had dual pump also. The B7800 I tried out at the dealer seemed to steer very easy but I did not have a load in the bucket and only drove it on their smoth gravel lot. Thanks to anyone that can shed any light on my concern.

Murph, thanks ,I have to get my wife to help me post pictures .She has one them new digital cameras, a Sony CD Mavica. I know not a thing about it. It's all Greek to me. She did say she would like to drive it.She did not like driving our old one because it was gear drive. She did help some by driving while I threw rocks in the bucket.I told her the new one will be a lot easier to drive because of the hydro transmission.
