I have a new B2910 with a 72inch MMM. I notice on my mid PTO lever that it has 2 positions. One indicating 2500rpm and the other just has a picture on it. The same goes for the rear PTO. Which position do I use to mow my lawn. The 2500rpm or the other? What is the difference? Thanks

HI,

I think there are only two positions, on both pto's, either on or off. I KNOW there is only on/off for the rear pto on my B2910. I don't have anything to hook to the mid pto, so I just tried it a couple times to make sure it worked, but it also felt like there was only on/off on it as well.

Initially I got confused by the graphics. My B2910 is less than 2 months old so I am sure mine and yours are both are the same...

I think that little picture in the middle just means that the lever works a PTO or something to that affect..

Hope this helps...

i would imagine that yours is the same as my b2400. all the graphics are supposed to make it easy for anyone to understand all they do is confuse anyone of any culture. u only have on or off, just remember to first set the rpms to midrange, push in the clutch and engage pto, let out the clutch and bring rpms up to pto speed. whatever happened to simple instructions like ENGAGE- DISENGAGE? or better yet ON-OFF /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif/w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Frank,

I second your opinion. The first time I sat on a B2910 (my first "real" tractor purchase), I just looked at all those graphics and tried to figure them out. It would have been so much easier to see "4 Wheel Drive", "2 Wheel Drive", etc. For what they charge for these units, you think they could print placards that are specific for the destination country. To me, those cryptic graphics could almost be construed as a safety hazard, but I'm sure the P.C. crowd would consider me "insensitive" to those in this country that don't speak English.

Well, atleast my transmission range select has L, M and H. I wonder how long before those are replaced with Snail, Dog and Cheetah?/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif (If ANY tractor manufacturer takes that last comment as a recommendation and actually implements it, I will personally sue them for every penny I can get for their willingness to follow up on a stupid suggestion.)
