Hello guys & gals! This is my first post on this web site. I have read some really good information here and I would appreciate some different views on this post. I am a lawn care professional and have been looking for a compact tractor for some time. I finally stumbled upon a Kubota B2910 W/ FEL, 60" MMM, and a woods scrape blade. The tractor has 396 hours on it, and it was used to mow a 3 acre church. The FEL was hardly used. Tractor is equipped exactly the way I need it and has been kept in shed out of the weather. Tractor And implements appear to be in excellent cond. And I was told by the owner tractor was well maintained. Price $15,500, owner would not come down a dime (he said he just reduced it.) I gave him a $500 dep. before he changed his mind. I would appreciate some different views about the pricing of this one. Thanks again. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Welcome to TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
The tractor would have sold new for $18-22,500. You did not mentions how many hours the tractor has. But $15,500 is a good price.

Thanks Frank. The B2910 was used only to mow 3 acre church. The scrape blade and FEL hardly used. Oh sorry I didn't list the hours, thats 396 hours. Thanks for the input. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

The B2910 is a really nice lightweight tractor, if you are a lawncare professional it should be very well suited to you tasks as the fairly small size gives it pretty good manuverability and the fairly light weight is fairly soft on the turf. My experience on a B2910 does not include mowing chores, but in about 4 years the tractor has needed zero repairs, has started up every time in every type of weather and has been 100% reliable. There are times when I wish I had larger, but my smaller tractor is nearly as big as the B2910 and with a similar capacity FEL so I guess I am spoiled. For medium duty work, the B2910 is unbeatable. Heavy duty work will take a bit longer with this machine than with larger frame heavier tractors as its small size and light weight do create some limits to what it can do, but they also provide some serious advantages as I know of no other similar machine that offers the power that the B2910 offers and still fits into places that larger machines can't even dream to get into. . . combine that with the light weight that doesn't tear up turf too much and is easy to tow around, you'll find the machine is a real winner.

I think you'll be very happy with your new tractor!

Sounds like a good deal to me. 104 hours and the engine is broke in.

You do mention the 396 hours on the first post, unless you edited. I kept reading and reading ... I was confused, but there it was 396 hours.

I bought my new B2910 in June of 2001, with a 402 FEL, and a 72" MMM for just over $20K. I now have over 650 hours on it. I bought it to prepare our 23 acres for a new house and all the chores required for the 18 acres of woods and the rest of the property. I've moved 100's of tons of dirt, 100's of tons of trees and brush, tilled 6 acres for grass, planted the 6 acres with a seeder, mowed all of it, prepared a garden, moved small mountains of snow (especially this year), made 2 driveways, and many, many other chores with mine. It has always performed the task I asked of it, as long as the task was within the capabilities of the tractor. I have asked it to do things that were way beyond what it was designed to do, and I can usually find a way to accomplish those tasks too. The only problems I have encountered are weight related. I always run out of traction before I run out of power. I've thought about adding wheel weights, but I decided not to, as that would add more stress to the tractor, and I want to keep this one for the rest of my life. If I were inclined to go into the landscape business with mine, I wouldn't hesitate for an instant.

B2910's are hard to find used, and this price may seem a little high at first, but you will find that after you've used it for a while, you will think you got the bargain of a lifetime. If the tractor is in as good of shape as you say, go for it!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sounds pretty good to me if the tractor is in as good a shape as you describe. As a point of reference, I paid $16,500 for mine new in 2000 with a FEL and a cheapy box blade.

The tractor is probably due for a hydraulic fluid change and filters. Make sure you read the manual etc. for the correct maintenance schedule.

I love mine. I do get a chance to use a bigger tractor occasionaly and thus realize the limitations of my tractor. However, most of those limitations are just taking smaller bites of work. You mention you are a lawn care professional. Here is an example of something I used mine for that you might find interesting. I built a lawn around my house which previously only had bedrock and rubble. It's about a quarter acre of ground that I cleared the brush/trees off of. I then dug a bunch of dirt up from another part of my property (a tooth bar was handy for this) and brought it up a bucket full at a time and spread it out. Final lawn averages 4-6" deep soil and I've got some real nice bermuda grass.

I use my tractor for all sorts of things on my 10 acres, yet I still only have about 120 hours on it. I don't use it to mow, so that keeps the hours off. Latest project was clearing a 40x40' area and starting to build a small 20x24' barn. Used the tractor for that and digging post holes, carrying lumber, you name it.

Anyway, you'll like it. Especially the hydrostat for what you will use it for.
