Hi Everyone.

I went to the dealer with the intention of test driving and possibly purchasing a new 2920 with a FEL and filled R4's. No other options I tried it out and feel it would meet my needs. The dealer is trying to steer me towards a new leftover 7800. He says he will sell if for the same price as the 2920. It's nice and I really like the 4 cylinder engine. I am a little concerned about the price. He wants $15500 + tax. This It seems like he is trying to sell me a 7800 or 2920 at a 7800 price rather than a 2920 price. I was expecting to see a 2920 quote under 15K. Any thoughts?

The difference between list on a 2920 w/ FEL and R4s and a 7800 with FEL and R4s is only 450.00. The 7800 being the slightly more expensive of the two.

I myself would like the bigger frame of the 7800, on the other hand it is a discontinued model being replaced by the b3200, so I'd either see if he would come off the 7800 a little more to move it, or see how much more the b3200 would run, just my 2 cents, I too was in your shape, and the dealers trying to move remaining 7800 stock, but elected to spend a little more for the B3030 and its being delivered Tuesday, where you located at, 2 cheapest quotes I got were Lawson's building supply in roseHIll,VA ask for Chris Lawson , and Barlows Equipment in Kentucky,

Looks like he is trying to sell you a B7800 at the B2920 price since the B7800 has been discontinued and I believe Kubota is giving some back to move them. The B7800 is a great high HP mid level machine. I had one and it is my favorite of the ones I've owned. Looks like his price is fair for the B7800. May want to check with the 2 dealers mentioned to see if they will beat his price or offer $15000 for the B7800 and feel good about your deal. I don't think you'll beat $15000 delivered and ask for first change of fluids and filters.

Both are nice machines! B7800 has been around a while and has been a great machine! How long has the B2920 been around ?

I have a B7800 which I love. I was at my dealer last week and looked at the B3200 and B2920 as well as the B2620.

I found the narrower loader arms and curved hood on the new models very nice. It would be much easier to get into smaller places and you can see what's going into the loader easier.

Also, if you are planning on adding a backhoe the integrated backhoe on the new models is nice since you only have the one seat-that swivels.

The smaller overall size of the B2920/2620 is also nice..at at times but for my needs the B7800 was a perfect fit.

I was in the same situation about 8 months ago. I had a BX24 and wanted to upgrade to a bigger frame/ tractor. My dealer tried to sell me a 7800. In fact my father has one and it is a great machine, bigger frame, better hydraulic output, stronger loader. In the end I liked the looks of the 2920, its a little smoother, lower to the ground so it was easier to get on and off. What really sold me was the location of the joystick, it's just a really comfortable tractor to use. Both machines are excellent, it's a tough decision!

Good choice PushinDirt;)

I was at my Kubota dealer last week. I blew out my B7800's rear tire and had to have a tube put in, the tire remounted and then refilled with 20 gallons of Rim Guard.

While I was waiting for the work to be done I killed an hour sitting on all the Kubotas in the yard.

I was very impressed with the new B's (2620, 2920 & 3200). I amazed ay how much better the new loaders were as as their arms are much narrower (much closer to the cowling) then the old ones like my B7800's.

The operator deck was also much larger and as Dirt suggested the loader joystick was in a better place.

If I was buying a tractor today I would have a hard time deciding between these three new B models.

Northland,

Where did you find the rimguard? I'm in Ontario, and could not find a dealer. Is it now available in Canada?

Yes, your right you can't but it in Canada. I live outside a border town to Michigan so I bought my tractor there and it came complete with the Rim Guard in the tires.

We lose out being in Canada sometimes. I just ordered a Fiskars Super Splitter Axe from the US because I couldn't buy it here in Canada.
