Congrats, and I know what you mean. In fact I paid off my B3200 after only two years (despite 0% interest) because I just hated being in debt. Will never borrow money again as long as I live.

Yes, I don't like oweing money either. My dad used to pay cash or write a check. He never took out any loans except for the last car he bought about a year before he died (39 years ago this month). And at that time his money he had in the bank & CD's was earning more in interest than they were charging for the car loan. And that's the only reason he borrowed money that time. He often said if you don't have the money for something then do without it and save up until you do. I wish we could live like that now, but it seems almost impossible to do nowadays. It was even tough to do back then.

I may be looking for a good subsoiler and a 1-row cultivator now that I have the tractor paid for. And I will be paying cash for those.

Congrats. I also was hesitant to borrow but after another friend left us in his early 50's I said to the wife. I really want a bigger tractor so I can do some real work\play in case I am not here or healthy when we finally have the cash. I promised her, she gets a new car next.

There's often heated discussions about whether to pay outright or finance it. There's nothing like not having a payment. All my toys are paid for now I'm working on finishing off the house payments ahead of schedule.

Paying outright or financing is probably different for each individual with different personal circumstances. I like to pay cash when I can. My house & all my "toys" are all paid for & I'm glad.
