At least they sent you something to play, I mean work with till you tractor gets there. That wait has to be tough.

I think this is the first time I have ever played and ended up doing work at the same time.

I'm glad the dealer made the offer and brought out the B21. My wife hired out to have the driveway re-graveled, the contractor left a few tons of the left over gravel in the street (we live on a private dirt road) and I was glad to get that moved. I'm sure my neighbors were getting tired of driving around it.

I look forward to getting my B3030 but at the same time, I'm learning how to run both the FEL and the BH so when mine arrives, I will look like I know what I am doing. :D

My dealer gave me an update on my on-order B3030, the backhoe and sub-frame mount is in, the mechanical thumb is on the way and the tractor and FEL will be in on Thursday. It will be delivered to me on the 23rd (June 2010).

The following data may be of interest to some, during the shopping process I was actually looking for a dealer to purchase from. I asked for a quote from each dealer I interviewed and here is what I received. All quoted prices are before sales tax, and delivered with no additional fees.

Dealer 1 27,255
Dealer 2 26,154
Dealer 3 25,784
Dealer 4 26,179
Dealer 5 26,700
Dealer 6 27,040
Dealer 7 27,637

Each dealer quoted on the identical package which was: B3030 with R4 tires, LA403 FEL with 60 bucket, BH76 with mechanical thumb, 16 bucket. Two dealers wanted to charge me a purchase fee, one dealer wanted $100 and the other $150, can you believe that?

The dealer I went with was the lowest and is a small owner operated business. I checked his references and nothing but good came back. Most of the other dealers just turned me off, most didn't know what they were talking about, some told me first that they are paid commission and wanted me to purchase now. It was an interesting experience to say the least and I was tired of the dealers trying to sell me a B3200 instead of what I asked for.

All of the dealers are located in SE Michigan except for Barlows. BTW, Barlow did not try to sell me anything but what I asked for.

Quite a spread from the lowest to the highest....... shows how it pays to shop around some.

What the heck is a 'purchase fee' ??? Just gaffing you above and beyond the cost of the tractor?

When I pushed one dealer to try and find out what the fee was, he really didn't know how to explain it and reinforced the fee by asking an associate about the fee, another dealer told me that Kubota charges it as a fee to notify the state of my loan. I asked if I paid cash would the fee go away, he said no, it is a documentation fee.

Given that only two dealers mentioned the fee and both quoted different different costs, I figure it was just a dealer greed fee.

Around here car dealers routinely charge a documentation fee of $150-$200 when selling a car.I believe it's also taxed as part of the sale!Seems like they are charging extra for something that has always been an expense of doing business.Lousy practice for sure. This sounds exactly like this purchase fee in question.

The truck showed up at my Kubota dealer with B3300s and B3200s but no B3030. Dealer doesn't know why Kubota isn't shipping the B3030 and has been trying to talk to the Kubota rep to find out what is going on. Worst case, I can grab a B3200, my dealer has the loader and backhoe for the B3200 on hand. I really want to stay with the B3030 for the 3 point position control and creature features.

Sure seems odd that they would ship lot stock over a tractor already sold.
Keep working the loaner and hold out for what you wanted in the first place.
