b3030 or l3400 or l3240 which is best for me?

That is true when with nearly every level of performance increase! The 3240 has more attachments available and not having lawn mowing duties makes this easy! Yes you can get by with less tractor if you have the time to do the work.

What extra attachments can you get with the L3240 that are not available for the L3400? Seems to me that most of the differences are "lux" features (plus the different hst system of course).

L3400 bare minimum
L3240 good choice with some niceties
L4400 if you don't care for niceties but would like some extra HP
I think the L4400 HST and the L3240 would be very close in price.

Front and mid attachments are not available thru Kubota for the L-3400 series. Erskine and other companies build a front blower that could be mounted but they have the appendage that hangs low out the back that for some might be a hinderance.
