Last question, I am buying one of these this week. I know the B3200 will handle mowing (w/ bush hog) my 4 acre horse pasture, and cleaning my extra wide horse stalls. It is lighter, so it shouldn't tear up my yard/pasture as badly. Other than a few ditches, my land is very flat. But am I going to regret at some point not having the extra 5 PTO HP? Nothing bigger than 1.5" diameter trees I want to chop down (and only a few of those) The price difference appears to only be around $1700.

Thanks in advance!

I can't comment L3400 as I never owned one but I do own a B3200TLB and mow with a 72" Woods Finishing Mower. I mow 2 acres and for 6 to 8 weeks each summer we are on the road across the states. When we arrive home after our summer trips the lawn needs to say the least be mowed. The B3200 handles it like a walk in the park, grab a can of ice tea and enjoy the ride.I've had lighter tractors,(BX23TLB) and heaver tractors, the heaver always stayed in garage because it left quite an indentations on the lawn. I still have to let lawn dry out after a few days of steady rain before I can mow with the B3200. So I imagine that the L3400 would add at least 1000lbs.to the weight of the B3200.
Hope this helps,DevilDog

Had a B7800 for 3 years, paid it off and traded it to a L3240HST which I had for 1 year and traded it to a B3200. The extra weight (1700 LBS more than B7800) eats up a bit/lot of the HP but the Grand L is Grand indeed. The L was to big for my property and ate up to much HP on my hills. Also hated trailering the L because of the extra weight and size. The L seating is quite a bit higher than the B which is fun on flat ground but scary for me on hillsides. I usually talked myself out of doing "stuff" on the L but was usually pretty eager to get the B's out and fire em up. The extra weight gives better traction whether it's added or built in to tractor. Unless you add some other need for PTO then the B will be sufficent. If you want the softer ride of the luxury seat of the Grand L, position control and more weight lifting capacity and extendable 3ph arms well it looks like you need a Grand L, course you will probably want to go with a 35 or 39 maybe 44 HP Grand L if your going that deep and each one is only a few thousand more than the model below it. There is always a bigger and better tractor. What size trailer do you have? Price a trailer big enough for your bigger tractor in case yours isn't big enough. I just watched a bunch of the videos about plows and boxblades and disk harrows and think I might need to get another L but I don't have any land to farm, yet.:) DHD Box Blade Video - Everything Attachments.com
The B will do the job and a BX will probably do it. Pick one then quit looking.:)

I just got rid of a b7800 (30hp) and got a new l3400. I like the B more for around the house type work and the L's extra hp really isnt noticable because of the extra weight. It does run the pto at a lower rpm but still seems to use a good bit more fuel than my b series did. They each have their advantages, theres times I miss the B and theres times I prefer the L. The decision isnt easy but you'll be happy with your decision either way.
