New owner here and I've been browsing the forums getting all kinds of good ideas and insights into my Kubota tractor. Great forum!
Thought I'd share one of the 1st custom items I added to my tractor. I, as others, found it surprising that the mid-PTO did not come with a cover, even though it is more exposed to potential damage than the rear PTO that does come with a cover.
I went to my local Home Depot and Lowes stores and picked up a couple items (less than $5 total cost) and created my own mid-PTO cover.
Here were the items I purchased:
* 1" x 2' poly pipe from Home Depot
* 3/4" x 1/2" PVC flush threaded bushing (Mueller Industries, INC....B&K 438-101HC)
* 1/2" PVC threaded plug (Mueller Industries, INC.. 450-005HC)
* PVC Cement glue
Instructions:
1) Cut the 1" poly pipe to a 2.5" length
2) Thread the PVC plug into the PVC flush threaded bushing
3) Glue the PVC plug/bushing combo into one end of the 2.5" poly pipe
4) Once dry, pack cover with some grease and slide onto mid PTO
