Just to let you know what I did, I went and got some rear chains from Les Schwab Tire Centre, only the 4 link type.
Got a rear blade (for a rip off price, a 2006 model, rusty, normal? I don't know) from the local Land Pride / Kubota dealer.
Snow blowers don't seem to be the norm here.

I first used it with blade edge pointing forward, as I pulled the blade. It worked, was hard work not to gouge out the driveway gravel. I will have to fix that in the Spring. Then for the next few days, I used the blade in reverse, just skimming off the new snow, so not to dig into the driveway more.

I'll go along with Farmall45B-- We had about 4" of grainy, sugar-like snow followed by 2" of rain a few weeks ago- talk about slush!

I had my doubts, but the blower on my GC2310, which I'm pretty sure is identical to the Bota blower, did surprisingly well. Throw distance was reduced, but still went about 25-35 feet. I was very happy, as I didn't want to deal with frozen ruts either! I just went slowly and kept the RPMs up.
