Does anyone know which way the nut that holds the crank shaft pully turns on a B6000? I am having trouble getting it loose. It is reverse thread? Any answers would be appreciated.

I see you have not received an answer yet. I don't have one either, but if you are not successful in getting it out by tomorrow, let me know and I will try to loosen the bolt on the B6000 I have here before the new owner picks it up.

Now I have a new question. I can't seem to get the timing cover all the way off my B6000. It is hitting a frame crossmember when I try to remove it. Has anyone been able to remove this cover without pulling the engine from the tractor?

cant help but wonder what you are trying to do to the poor thing
if your doing something really extesive it might be best to pull the engine out

Just took a look at mine. I think Mith is correct, if you have to go this deep into the engine, it might be easier to yank it. What is it you are trying to do if you don't mind me asking?

I had the pin come out of the center of the camshaft, which is causing low oil pressure. I got the cover off enough to see the pin in the bottom of the cover, but I need to be able to get it off all the way to replace the pin and put new gaskets on it. I was thinking about maybe unbolting the engine and raising to a few inches as this should do the trick. I emailed someone on this board that had the same problem 6 months ago and I hope they can provide insight as to how they repaired theirs. This seems like a fairly common problem from what I have heard.

If I were you , I would pull the engine. Knowing there might have been low oil pressure, I would at least change the rod and main bearings just to be safe. Why not fix it now and know the engine will last another 25 years?

I'd do the same...just make sure the bearings are available before your pull them out. Also, if the replacement bearings are not available, keep the originals (uppers and lowers) matched and know which rod or journal they came from. Use a Sharpy on something like them to label them...just in case.
