I can do without getting a mower attachment as I have a 54inch rider but it just takes forever and not the best cut. Here is some pics of my property . About 3 acres of yard and I have a creek inside that wood line and I own another 2 acres with that wood line and creek and a little farther into the back side of the woods. Built the house 10 years ago and ready to to actually do something with the open space instead of mow it, lol. 20200927_164131.jpeg20200927_164136.jpeg20200927_164152.jpeg20200927_164207.jpeg

Oh well good, I know it has the dl95 loader and the CB65 bh on it, so that's a good thing. I am going to stop by this week and take a look at it.

Even better! Mine had the 100 and 05, but did have the 54” deck with it.

Does the machine your looking at have SSQA on the loader? That is worth it’s weight in gold.

I can't tell. I don't know what to look for. This is the best pic I can see of the loader.

Gene, thank you for the advice. I didn't know those tools existed. That's look to be perfect for what I need. I was going to use the tiller for garden plots for the wife. After watching your video I think a box blade and that rake would do just fine. And that snow blade attachment looks to work just fine too.
I have a lot of projects in the future as my house sits on a null in an old corn field I bought with a creek and tree line that wraps around it. Plenty of landscaping ideas, I have drainage issue to deal with, would like to clear out some of my creek/tree line to make it more accessible, and I want to run water and power to back of property and put in a small septic to make a camping spot for my rv and have a place to dump the tanks when need be. My brother owns 100 acres and my dad owns 30 acres and I know they both need some help trying to maintain their properties as well.
Anyways, after I found that used gc1710 I really started thinking about it but now that I know there is alternatives to some of these implements and attachments I am definitely more persuaded to go buy it now. I really like those little massey's, lol. Thanks again.

No worries man, glad to help. A lot of us here were in the same shoes, wondering what to get, what not to get, etc.

From what you're describing here, you're bound to have some people on TBN telling you that you should be shopping for a tractor larger than a scut. I wouldn't necessarily agree with that statement, but I will say that you should keep in mind that this is a little tractor, more geared towards landscaping and stuff like that, compared to more serious excavation. Not that you can't use it for that, it's just that it would be slower going.

But in any case, whether you end up using the massey scut for running long trenches and digging up for septic, or rent equipment or hire out for that...you DO need a tractor/loader/backhoe just for keeping up your property. I mean, if you're the one keeping up (as opposed to hiring a landscaping service), you need one is what I'm saying.

Your bucket doesn't look to be quick attach, no. You're gonna have to convert it to quick attach if you're intent on getting a grapple, unless you get an add-a-grapple thumb. Add-a-grapple uses your existing bucket, and just adds a thumb on top that clamps down. The thumb itself is quick attach, so easy to remove when you're not needing it. They work ok for what they are, but a real grapple is way more efficient. If you got a lot of woods to clear out, and will be doing it regularly, a real grapple is probably the way to go.

Is your driveway gravel or paved/blacktop?

Yeah, I am keeping my eyes open for any good deal on a small CUT as well but I realize the SCUT will be slower and am willing to deal with that as everything I am planning on doing, I plan to take my time with anyways. That is why I don't want to rent unless I absolutely have to as I am usually pretty busy with work and will be limited on time I could use a rental. Just seems like wasted money to me unless it is something I need to rent something bigger for. Thanks again

It is gravel

Ok, if you're going to snow plow that with the bucket, you don't want the snow edge I use, you want something called edge tamers. Just google that, it's little ski looking things you mount on your bucket, keeps it from digging into your gravel when plowing it.
