I've had my B7100 forever, but only recently discovered the "Directional Control Valve" referenced on page 11 of the operator's manual which allows hydraulic pressure to be diverted from the 3 point lift to a rear implement. Has anybody got experience with using this? I need advice on Step (2) page 12 of the manual: "Remove the plug from the case front cover, and connect the return hose from the implement to the cover." Ok - I can't figure out where the "plug in the case front cover" is. Any help or comments on experience using this hydraulic takeoff appreciated.
Thanks
Mf

I used to own a B7100 also, great little tractors. Your post is news to me. I never knew that was possible. If I recall correctly there was a mid run change to the 7100 where Kubota made quite a few changes but still called it the 7100. Maybe that's why you can't find the plug on yours?

I believe the forum owner is a mechanic.

I've had a B7100 for many years and love the tractor. Use it mostly for snow blowing, grass cutting and hauling fire wood. I have never used the directional control value but if you look at the picture on page 12 of the manual it shows the plug. It is about in the 7 or 8 o'clock position in the picture. It does say plug with an arrow pointing to it but it is a little hard to see. I just when out to look at mine and sure enough there it was. Thinking of upgrading my 7100 to a B2920 or B3200 as I could really use a FEL.
Good Luck!

Just under the seat front there is a valve with a bung on it. I think that is what you are looking for. :)

If you send me your email address I'll attempt to send a parts diagram.:)

Having looked at my B7100 and thought about this more I think I know what the answer is. What I would consider to be the fill port for the hydraulic system is just in front of the seat between my legs. Rather than being a plastic non-threaded plug like the fill port for my B2710 (which is behind the seat) it is a seriously threaded brass port that also is receiving a line (laterally) back from what the manual calls the "hydraulics block" and which obviously controls the loader. I presume that I can attach the return hose to that fill port. Please correct me if I am wrong Egon. Thanks all.

You know, so was I. But as I look at equivalent horsepower it looks to me I am downgrading from a real tractor to a glorified lawnmower. I truely appreciate the AG tires on my B7100 (not available on BX series), and also appreciate the tire size. Have you seen the "teeensy leeeettle" tires on the front of Kubota's current low horsepower offerings? None of those would ever get me up my muddy hills. Consider getting an after market loader on your B7100 if your Kubota dealer can't fit one on for you. I see such advertised in my area by grey market importers. On the other hand if you are going way up to a B2920, I can endorse that move. I have a B2710 and it does everything I want of it.

The return plug is in front of the seat also. In this pic you can see the valve, cap for pressure and the return port which is also used to fill the hydro case. The hose running to it is for my loader return. 0804121950.jpg

OK - got it. Looks just like mine. Have you ever used the hydraulics off the control valve.

No I have not used that port, I used the loader hydraulics with a power beyond valve. What are you planning on running off the directional port?
