Very nice looking rig. May want to go to Pep Boys and get another steering wheel cover...something with flames, maybe. Or a pink one for your wife.

Looks like a very hard working machine that will outlast your house. Little bit of elbow grease and it'll look just like new. Doesn't look like there's a crease on the thing.

Hot.

LOL!!! The steering wheel cover definitely has to go. I'm going to put a knob on the steering wheel anyway. I have one on my '80 B7100, it definitely makes the lack of power steering easier to live with, esp. when backup on, or doing anything that requires looking over your shoulder.

I agree, a little "elbow grease" will have it looking like new. The paint is in very good condition, just some exhaust soot on it, and a little dirt, that's all. It doesn't seem faded at all (unlike my '80).

The B7100 sold very well from 1977-1983. It was replaced by the B7200 (starting in 1983), then later by the B1550 (starting in 1988) and then again by the B1700 (1995). After the B7100 was discontinued in 1983, sales of the new models (B7200, B1550 and B1700) in NA were not as good as Kubota had expected. The public kept asking dealers for the B7100. In light of lagging sales and public demand, Kubota finaly elected to re-introduce the B7100 in NA in 1991. When Kubota finally stopped selling them around 1996, it wasn't because public demand had stopped, but rather because Kubota's inventory had run dry and none were left to sell. The re-introduced B7100 can be easily distinguished from its older brother by an elegant front grill that bulges outwards, as seen in your photos.

Do you know of any other changes for these re-introduced models? Is this when they went to the 6-lug front wheels?

Is the engine the same as the early B7100 (D750A)?

What didn't people like about the B1550 and B1700?
