B7100 Loader

Just wondering what size of loader I can put on a B7100 tractor? I'm looking for a loader and may have found a Kubota LA480. I know the mounting brackets will not fit, but should be able to fabricate something there. Just wondering if this loader may be too big for the tractor? How can I tell?

Ostrich, you may need to give more information, especially as to which B7100 you have or how old it is. There were more than one version of the B7100. I used to have a 1995 B7100 that came with a B1630C front end loader with a 48" bucket, but I don't know what other models might work.

It's an older B7100 (late 80's, 90's). Standard direct, not HST. It may take a bit to make a mounting bracket. I'm just not sure if the tractor has a limit on the size of loader it can handle. The LA480 didn't look too big?

My 1999 B2710 had an LA401 loader. If I remember right, those loaders are numbered for the approximate number of kilograms they'll lift. In other words, my LA401 was rated for about 884 pounds and that LA480 is rated for over a thousand pounds. I can't remember for sure, but I think my B1630C loader on the B7100 was rated for about 512 pounds. And the tractor was light enough that it would easily raise both rear wheels off the ground if I didn't have a counterweight on the 3-point hitch.

So . . . ., in my opinion, an LA480 loader is way too much for a B7100 tractor, but we could very possibly have members who know more than I, so if anyone wishes to contradict me, or express a different opinion, feel free to do so.

If you run across a TA55 it is an ideal fit for you B7100. Mounting brackets are readily available (should run between $300 & $400). That includes a rear axle kit to stregthen the frame (runs from front axle to rear axle). Lifts 700# at full height of 7'9". I've seen them listed on ebay...
