When I"m in reverse and then lift my foot of the pedal, sometimes the pedal stay depressed in reverse. I think its hanging up on a support bracket for the MMM. Seems worse when the mower is in a high position. Anyone else have this problem?

I've learned to quickly hit the brake or forward pedal to get out of reverse, but I'd hate for my wife or someone else to panic and turn my barn into a drive-through!

ToxDoc,
Have you lubed the zerc at the pivot point on the forward/reverse pedals. Mine gets a little sticky every now and then and a shot of grease clears it right up. I have also had a stick lodge itself in the linkage. I was stuck in forward and had to use the clutch and brake to stop, shut off the engine and remove it. Hope it is as simple as a shot of grease for ya.

I haven't had that problem. But I've had the FEL and the backhoe fall off! Well, not quite, but each had a main pin fall out. My advice is to visually inspect your machine from time to time. Familurize yourself with all the little pins, clamps and fittings. Looking for trouble can help avoid it.

Mine'll do that sometimes too. It will also sometimes be very difficult to press the reverse pedal if I haven't used it for awhile; I'll have to kind of stomp on it.

It comes and goes though. I've tried greasing that zerk but I think it's jammed. Have been too lazy to replace the zerk.

I had a stick jam into the linkage one time when I was clearing some woods; was going forward, let my foot up and didn't slow down - nice surprise! Just pushed the clutch in and took it out of gear to see what was going on.

Mine does the exact same thing when I have the mower in the full up position. I haven't dragged myself under it to see exactly what's hanging up (LAZY) so I just try to remember not to raise the mower all the way. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My B2910 does the same exact thing. I haven't had a stick jam in or anything but I can't figure out why it is hard to push the pedal in reverse. If anybody finds out why let me know.

Thanks

There is a pin sticking out just a wee bit too far that your rear HST pedal is hanging up on. I've had the same problem with my B7500. Not being home to use the manual for proper terminology, I'll do my best at a description. The support arms that attach the mower deck to the tractor have a springed pin. When the mower deck is off, there is a bracket that swings down (with a quarter size hole in it). This bracket with the quarter sized hole is then pinned to the support arm with the springed pin. When the mower deck is on, the bracket with the quarter sized hole is swung up out of the way and is pinned to the frame. It is this pin with circular ring that if sticking out just a bit to far catches the rear hydro pedal. At least this has been my experience.

Been there. Done That. After almost puting my B7500 through my barn wall, into my truck, etc... I decided to take matters into my own hands, as the dealer was no help except for the lip service of "Don't raise the mower so high".

Look at the right side of your tractor ahead of the rear wheel where the pin and cotter pin for the lift arm are hitting your HST pedal arm. I removed the lift linkage pin and put the pin in through the lift linkage from the back side and marked the pin where it was against the outboard face of the linkage to show me how short the pin could be before the the cotter pin would not fit through anymore. Then, I redrilled the pin so that the cotter pin would be as close to the linkage as possible, and ground off the 1/4" to 3/8" of the pin that was now unneccessary. The pedal NEVER hangs up anymore. Ther is no greasing problem period. It is the pin through the lift linkage causing the problem. Drop me a PM if you have any questions.

I had the same exact problem with my B2710. I also removed the linkage pin and shortened it about 1/4", redrilled for the cotter pin and "presto" no more reverse pedal hangups /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks for the great suggestion.s Given this problem seems to occur with others and it has safety implications I'm surprised Kubota hasnt fixed it.

As a quick fix I was able to push the pin in a bit further, and the problem went away--so that's obviously the source. When I have more time I'll drill the new hole for the cotter pin and grind the length down some.
