Tractor
B7500
Ok I think that I am real close to getting my new tractor finally. BUT I still can't make up my mind on these 2. They both have hydr. and loaders. But the jd has 40 hrs. on it. It still has full warranty on it. But there is something about having a brand new one. I really like both of these tractors I think that the jd has a few more features on it that I do like. And Jd you can finance it longer.(smaller payments) So any imput will be real helpfull.. ps the prices are both the same $13.200.00

Darins, I'm partial to Kubota, and yes, I guess there's something about having a brand new one (to some folks), but 40 hours and still in warranty! Buy the one that feels best to you. Otherwise you'll still be wondering whether you should have bought the other one years from now.

While I'm partial to John Deere, I absolutley agree with Bird. 40 hours is practically nothing in the life of a tractor, and you're going to be happiest with the unit that feels right to you.

The only other thing to think about is the dealer... which one do you get a better feel from? If these are from the same dealer, I might rather go with the brand he sells new.

I think the 4100 has position control. All else being equal, I'd give it the nod for that. You can always look at the 40hrs as a dealer shakedown :) Are there any advantages to the 7500 to you, I haven't compared specs on those two in a long time. Like Bird, I'm a kubota fan, but Mark's point re dealers is important. Ultimately, since they're both great tractors, you really can't go wrong.

Thought I'd throw in my two cents worth. I like both of the tractors a lot. My neighbor has a JD 4100 and I like it a bunch. I also think if I were to get another tractor it might be a B7500 with a FEL. If I were in your shoes, I'd probably go spend some time driving each one, running the loader, backward, forward, manuver around stuff...just drive them for as long as it takes to really get the feel. Then I'd buy the one I liked the best. OK, maybe that's a nickel's worth.

Darins,
The JD4100 is a sweet tractor!!
After finally setting and trying one out JD4100 I see why they are picked.

Don't wait to much longer to decide, for when the snow melts prices go up. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Darins, A little over a year ago, I was also trying to decide between both of these same tractors. I ended up with the JD4100 and I made the right choice FOR ME. Because: 1) the 4100 was on sale at that time, 2) the JD dealer was closer and offered better service to my area, and 3) the 4100 has position control. I don't know much about the B7500. They do look like nice machines and have a great reputation. But I think that spec-wise you get alittle more with the JD. Compare the hydraulic flow capacities, the loader specs and the 3 point hitch capacity of both units and you'll see what I mean. They both are normally priced about the same. I've had no complaints about mine yet, and I've spent the past year rototilling, plowing, mowing and cutting ditches with mine.

I have 1 more? Has anyone heard of any problems with the jd's hydr. I have heard from a few dealers that they are haveing problems with them but its been pretty quiet about it. I talked to a dealer who sales both and he thinks that the Kubota is much more reliable then the JD. What have you heard??

I had heard that too about hydr. problems on the 4100. The CTB had a lot about that about a year ago. While both makes can have problems I think generally the Kubota is a better made machine. A good friend of mine has a JD 4300 and it is always going back to fix something. I grew up with JD and while I still like them (I came close to buying a 4300) but I still like Kubota better for the utility tractors. We always had JD coming out to fix our tractor when I was young.
But this decision is just personal. You need to drive both and weigh all the advantages and disadvantages of the two.

Darins, Try them out and read all you can on this and other sites. I was faced with a similar decision myself, recently. I had narrowed my choices down to JD, Kub or NH. I settled on the NH TC 21 D. My decision was finally based on what I really liked best. Good luck in your shopping adventure.

Thanks BANJOBY I would be interested in what made you decide on the NH. I do like them and the dealer is really trying to sell me a tc18 with powersteering and a loader for $12.500.00. Which is a good price I think. But when I test drove the 21 It was a little jurky at low speeds? Do you find that on yours?Or is that because it is new and wasn't really warmed up? Thanks for your help.

The only jerky I get is when the wife buys some from the butcher, some other things too but I wont go there!! Tom

Darins, I didn't notice the jerky feeling when I drove the TC 21 D. If you are interested in the 18 or 21 go to the New Holland site, there is alot of info on these two models. I really thought the NH dealer was the most knowlegible and was really impressed with their facility. It didn't hurt that I really like the color BLUE!!!!!!

I drove the TC21 in a real snow, sleet storm it had only been running about 30 seconds. No jerkiness at all & I was quite impressed. However, I have gone to the Kubota B2410 for value and dealer quality. Good luck on your decision.
