I recently noticed that the dealer who sold me myy tractor installed the rear tires the wrong way. The center hub is on the wheel backwards such that the tires are way out... the hub is on the inside of the rim toward the transmission. I thought this was normal until I saw a PROPERLY set up B7500. I checked my Owner's Manual and they are on mine wrong. The inside edge of the tires are almost even with my fenders. The Kubota manual says that any installation other than the specified way in the manual can cause damage to the transmission... GREAT. Now what should I do? Go after the dealer? Who's gonna guarantee the tranny won't puke now that it is out of warranty? I'll tell 'ya, this dealer isn't worth a !@#$%&*.

I doubt that it would hurt the transmission. Moving the tires in and out is SOP for the 7500 and 2410 and I assume the 7610/7510 as well. I would have them mounted correctly as they will move the tires out and give you a wider stance. As long as there has been no rubbing and everyhting is in working order--just have them remounted correctly and don't worry. J

I'd take it back to the dealer even though it's out of warranty. Unless they accuse you of reversing them, I'd think they would want to make it right, or at least split the cost with you. Is it possible they did it on purpose for some reason? It seems impossible to believe a dealer doesn't know which way the wheels go on.

Robert,
I also have a B7500 and if I am understanding your description, mine are mounted exactly like yours. This is the standard mount at most dealers. They are set to the widest position for stability. You can change the configuration for a narrower mount if needed, but usually wider is better. In some farm applications a narrower stance is desireable.

My owner's manual recommends center-to-center widths ranging from 29.1" to 40" for the rears, depending upon the type of tire...........chim

Ifyou look at my rear tire/rims, they are as follows:

The "dish" of the rim faces out, with the "mounting" plate of the rim in towards the tractor, as usual. BUT, the separate hub with the hexagon sleeve that sleeves the axle should be inside the dish of the wheel, mounted to the outward face of the wheel, and pointing outward. My hub is mounted with the flange on the inside face of the rim on the wheel side closest to the tractor, and the hex sleeve of the hub then protrudes toward the tractor from there, so it sets the wheels waaaaay out such that the inside face of the tires is even with the outside edge of my rear fenders. I'll bet some of your rear tire is under your fender... mine aren't. The installation I have is for what my manual says "Non-USA Models".

Robert,
That's the way mine are. The wheels are outside of the fender. I'll take a couple of pictures tomorrow and post them. Once again, I hope I am understanding your description correctly /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif, but they say a picture is worth a thousand words.

None of my R4 tires are under my fender when they are set to their full out position. In this position the axle is flush with the end of the movable hub. At this full out position the width of the B7500 is roughly equal to that of the B2910 (I think that's the number) with its non movable hubs.

In the manual they show both the R4 and R1 tires at this position but not the turfs on the USA models. All I can think of is that the turf tires are a good bit wider than the R4 and R1's which put additional unwanted stress on the axle bearings at the full out position.

Robert,
Sorry it took a while to get back with photos. Had a few distractions this weekend, so it has taken a while to get back to the tractor and camera. I'll post 3 photos. One of the wheel from a side view, one of a frontal shot showing the tire in relation to the fender and one more showing the reason for my delayed response. The picture attached here shows the wheel configuration.
