This is my first post thanks for reading.

I have a 2005 b7510hst w/la302 fel. it has 43 hours.

I do lots of advanced service on our vehicles and feel comfortable trackling the service on my tractor.

I have all the kubota filters (i think) already. Do the fluids need to come from the dealer? Any acceptable alternatives?

Does anyone have a list of what a dealer actually does on the 50 hour? My tractor has no issues that would require a dealer visit otherwise. I assumed all filters and fluids are drained and changed. Does the coolant need to be changed too?

My owners manual seems to indicate the engine oil and filter and transmission fluid and filter are the only services needed at 50 hours.

I don't mind spending the money on parts and fluids but don't want to waste money doing services before they are needed.

Any pointers or advice would be welcomed.

Please forgive me if I am asking too basic of questions. I searched "50 hour service" and "B7510" before posting.

Welcome to TBN… It sounds like you will do fine with your tractor… common sense, (well maybe not so common anymore /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif), along with the service schedule in your manual will get you where you want to be.

You can be sure there are some around that will tell you that you will not go to heaven if you don’t use Kubota fluids/service. Check with Tractor supply and other places close to you and you WILL find fluids that state (compatible) on the label. If you are not sure, do a search on fluids/ hydraulic fluids. You will find MORE to read than you will want… again apply common sense and you will be fine. Kubota is a reputable company and will not try to mistreat you on a warranty problem because you didn’t use their products.

The important thing is do timely service and in general look everything over… You will no doubt pay closer attention to things than a service guy at the dealers shop /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. You should also watch for a set of work shop manuals if you do not already have them. KennyV.

Thanks again, Don

KennyV gave good info, I will add it is easier to service the tractor if you remove the FEL and any 3pt implements for easier access and you can pay more attention to the tractor than what's attached to it.

IIRC - I think there is also a section on checking the torque of the wheel nuts - I think mine were fine at 50 hours - but when I checked again at 100 (or was it @ 150?) - one of the rear wheels had a significantly "less tight" nut!

I do remember finding a loose nut / bolt somewhere on the FEL that the dealer must have overlooked as well - otherwise no big deal.

"Maintenance" on my B7610 has been - as far as I'm concerned - a breeze. I took my time at the 50 hour - doing everything slow & careful. When I changed the engine oil at 150 hrs - it took like 10 minutes.

I made "Quick Maintenance Checklist" copies of the owners manual / WSM procedures - and make notes as to what size wrench / socket I need to remove a given fitting - then I keep the notated copy into this "maintenance book" in my garage for quick reference. I use sheet protectors to keep the pages clean when you have greasy hands...

If you are used to doing PM's on other vehicles - I bet you'll find the B7510 a snap!

Cheers,

Dan
