Tractor
Kobota
Can't start this thing it is a great tractor but have been having trouble starting it with key. I turn the key to glow plug, it sets, turn to start position and nothing. Battery is up but no start. It's like the transmission is not returning to neutral position or a bad neutral safety switch. I had to dealer some months ago and it worked about a week or so and returned to same problem. I have to go 100 miles to get it back to them. Any help or idea on what to do or what is not happening so I can use my Kubota ?

Take out old battery and try with a known good one.

Then check battery cables and connections, both ends.

Next start test all the safety switches.

Maybe oil the key switch

??:)

On our B7500HST, the clutch has to be depressed and the PTO has to be off before it will start. IIRC, it doesn't care about the HST pedal position.

There's a safety interlock on the pto ON/OFF shaft that needs to be set firmly in the OFF position to get the tractor started. Happened to me once on the 7510 HST I used to own. It's easy to dislodge that pto control lever with your arm far enough to open circuit the interlock.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply/answer on the problem. I have tried all these things except all the safety switches. It's got a new battery and I replaced the 30 amp fuse for the starter solenoid. I did check the seat switch and it is good but can't seem to locate any other safety switches. I was told it had a neutral switch but I can't find it or I'd bypass it or at least check it out. Any help on any other safety switches on this puppy?

We have a 7500 which (as I understand) was the prior model, so it has a manual stop knob and less safety switches. I dont think it has a neutral switch, but I can check next time I sit on it.

Glad to hear it. If you have to pull out a knob to shut the tractor off, the only function of the PTO switch to to keep you from starting the tractor with the PTO on.
