Sorry to be a butt hole but read your owners manual. I'm sure they have diagrams.

If you can't move you tractor get a hydraulic jack and lift the front end and put 2x4. 4X4 under the tires for additional height.

Your PTO shaft. Keep it together as one piece. The locking collar, for get about it for 10 seconds... Put the collar of the shaft on the PTO shaft and rotate the PTO shaft to line up the splines. Now with it lined up pull the collar back and slide forward. Another tip is to keep some grease on the shaft to help it slide.

As far as anything hanging down.... There's nothing to hangdown. The lift carriage pins up under the tractor. The front lift carriage you take off when you take the MMM off.
The PTO shaft, both parts goes with the MMM.

If you don't have the owners manual, get one. It's not the greatest thing but outlines how to do this. I know everyone here didn't read their manuals, but I bet most scanned thru them.

Did the dealer go over step by step on how to remove and put back on the MMM? He's supposed to.

Got to the toilet, take your MMM and tractor owners manual. Have a nice little read....becareful of your legs falling asleep.

It took a long time before I figured out how to take it off and put it on. Now I do it in 5 minutes.

The first thing I do when removing or installing the deck is disconnect or connect the PTO shaft. Pull the lock collar back until it sticks in the open position then pull off, or when installing, slowly turn shaft until it pushes on to the spline. The shaft is indexed so sometimes it takes a little fiddling with but it only takes a couple of seconds once you get the hang of it. Make sure the coupler snaps back into the lock positin when installing. I always give a few tugs on it to make sure. I've had one come off before and I got lucky, it didn't tear up the yoke or anything underneath. It makes quite a racket when this happens and I can assure you that you'll always check it after that!!
As the others have said, I start with the back two pins and then the front whether I'm removing or installing. Other than raising the front with the FEL, the whole process takes less than five minutes.

Did you get it back on yet?

I put my deck on my B7500 yesterday and it took 10 minnutes. In that time I greased it and my FEL too, even changed a grease cartridge.

After I slide the MMM under the tractor to the about where it goes position I hooked up the PTO shaft. I dabbed grease on the tractor's PTO shaft, butted up the collar and rotated the PTO shaft (a wiggle) to where the splines aligned up, pulled back the collar and on she slides and CLICK goes the collar into place.

The I hooked up the rear lifts, from lift and started mowing for the first time in 2005.

I'll drop the deck several times in coming weeks as I get my garden ready.

Sorry for not responding sooner...I did get the mower back on. That page from the owners manual that the dealer faxed me was a lifesaver. I did not have the manual actually until last saturday. I figure the mower deck should have taken about 15-20 minutes to reinstall. The only practical problem I had was trying to get my arms in a position to hook up the spline. So little room with that 60 in MMM. Thanks for your help!
