b7510 vs JD 4110

"Some thing that has not been said so far is that the Kubota is built and manufactured by Kubota, whereas the Deere is outsourced and painted green to look like a Deere. "

Nope, I said it first /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

All these tractors of every color have to much plastic. I would prefer fiberglass over plastic and in some cases over metal, also repairable, strong and long lasting. Plastic is not repairable when it does break and sooner or later it will.

Another observation on this and similar other threads of which there have been many, JD dealers lie about Kubotas even on the JD comparison website. That is dishonest and without honor. I suspect that some of these threads like this one are started by JD dealers who are sore at Kubota. J

I was in the same situation except I was looking at the 4115 vs. the 7610. I spent about three months looking at the deere and then looking at the kubota. The one advantage that I did like with the deere is that the brake pedal was on the opposite side to the foward and reverse pedals. But in the end I was sold on the 7610 not because I thought that the deere was any worse then the kubota. It all boiled down to a $4500 dollar differece. I just could not see that green paint costing so much.
My dad has a deere and I like it a lot. But he got a good, no great deal, on it and if I had got the kind of deal he got I would own a deere. They are both good tractors and you will enjoy either one. But in the end it still will boil down to which one YOU prefer. No one else.
Right now I own a B7610 and it does everything that I need and want it to "right" now. ..... oh and by the way when the boss (wife) first saw my tractor all she said was "It is orange!"

(1) We have a key shutoff they don't.

What do they mean by a key shutoff? I would think all tractors turn off when you turn off the key, so I can't imagine what this is.

Cliff, on lots of diesel machines, there is an electric solenoid that shuts off the fuel when the key is turned off, but on some others, the key simply turns off the electrical system, so there is a separate fuel shut-off to kill the engine. My 1995 Kubota B7100 was one example of that. You pushed the throttle lever forward to increase engine speed, pulled it back to a detent to idle, then pulled harder, back past that detent to kill the engine; made no difference whether the key was on or off. Remember, gasoline engines have spark plugs to ignite the fuel in the cylinders, so when you turn the key off; i.e., shut off the electrical system, you kill the engine, but diesels are compression combustion; no spark plug, no electrical power to ignite the fuel, so you have to shut off the fuel, either manually or with a solenoid to kill the engine.

Yes, exactly and both of my 'botas have that feature so again the JD team are not telling the truth. Not telling the truth is a lie. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. I am sick of the 'bota bashing, way beyond sick of it and I don't like the continual insinuation that Kubota owners are stupid or unpatrotic either /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. I am ready to take on all comers, bring it on /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. J

Correct! My new tractor is not even delivered and I am getting a lot of static about it being Japanese. What they don't realize there's not a tractor made in the US under 100hp, I don't care what color it is.

I think the JD 5005 series (40-48 PTO HP) are built in Georgia with JD engines.

I have a Bota but JD makes a good tractor as well. I don't think I'd buy a JD from the dealer you talked to. Find another dealer if yous heart is set on Green. If thier not up front about things now whats going to happen later???

I can't see any logical advantage to buying a John Deere...unless you are a John Deere fan. When you compare the tractors side by side...the Kubotas...nearly right up the line offer better value for the money. I am not opposed to the green machines as the Deere dealer is about 1/4 mile down the road, and is my immediate neighbor. BUT, they don't offer a machine like the BX23.

I do apologise if I've said anything incorrect or misleading about Kubotas. I guess I don't understand the history being brought up here. I'm not sure who the JD team is, but I thought what someone upthread related was what one salesman said to them when asking about comparisons with a Kubota model.

When I went to the Kubota, Deere and NH dealers, they were all surprisingly uninformed about the competition and instead of saying they didn't know, they were quite willing to say what they heard sometime in the past.

I think the lesson to be learned from this is that you get Kubota information from the Kubota dealer : NH information from NH etc. Always check out what another dealer says unless they are showing you the current brochure. And vis-versa.

I was not Kubota bashing on purpose. I would not do that. I had a difficult time deciding between the Kubota and the Deere myself.
