these 2 tractors appear to have quite a bit in common, but price is quite a bit different.

what are the main differences that make up the price differences?

thanks
John

Same engine, same frame, mostly same hydraulics, I believe. 2410 has both front and rear hydraulic outlets; 7610 only front. 2410 has position control for 3ph; 7610 has quarter inching valve instead. 2410 has about 240# greater lifting capacity 24" behind LP. 7610 has slightly shorter turning radius, but 2410 has accelerated turn power steering feature and weighs about 100# more. Minor differences in fuel tank and transmission case size. I think that about covers it.

I'm still torn between that size and the B7800 (significantly greater HP and hydraulics power and reinforced frame) for about $2000+ more) but if I go for the smaller model, I'll opt for the 7610 because I don't think the additional features are worth the price.

I was in the same boat as you Maddog. I was stuck between the 7500 and the 7800. I went with the 7800 and I am so glad that I did. I like the extra size and HP. The ground clearance is awesome as well. I had a 7200 before the 7800 and was afraid the 7800 would be too big, but it has turned out to be the perfect size and what I was looking for. It is large enough to tackle tough projects yet nimble enough to get around and not damage the yard.

Thanks, KS. Unlike the differences between the 2410 and 7610, I am convinced the differences between the 7610 and 7800 ARE worth the price. Main issue is whether my OPE shed will accomodate the 7800 with the FEL. If I would have to detach the FEL to garage, how much of a job is that to do each time??

BTW, sorry to hijack your thread, John, however I think that I have already given you the info you were looking for.

not that much of a job , but do u think u want to do that every time u park the tractor in the garage?

MadDog wonders:

Frank replies:

</font>

And I add:

I am sure you don't want to take the loader bucket off each time you park the tractor in the garage. Nope...you don't want to do that. That means each time you use your tractor you have to put the loader bucket on, and take it back off...would be a real pain...

I think I remember someone here cutting a hole in the back of his garage, letting a bit of the loader stick out, so he could close the doors... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Guess that is thinking outside of the box... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Or at least thinking through the hole in the back of the box..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's surely thinking outside the box of sanity, Henro. I've asked my dealer to give me an accurate figure on the length of the B7800 with FEL, from which I should be able to determine whether it will park OK. The problem is that my shed is 7x14'4", inside footprint, but the 6' sliding door is on one end of one of the long walls, so I would have to back in and cut sharply to get the FEL in w/out hitting the front wall.

W/ a 6.75' turning radius, I figure I am probably OK if the length is at least 1' less than the length of the shed.
Any tighter and I'd either have to remove the FEL or build another shed. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I do realy prefer the 7800, though. And using a 7.5' hoe on a 7610 may put too much stress on it.... But then, again, maybe not....

I don't see that happening at all. The tractor with loader has got to be better than 12 feet long. Heck, my little BX is about 11 1/2 feet with loader attached. Add a back blade and there isn't a bunch of room left in my 16 foot long Cover-it shed.

I built a 24'x24' barn to hold my L3830 with loader and 6 foot bush hog...Surely that's enough room...right?

It's enough...barely. With the loader 3 inches from one wall, I have to turn the bush hog tail wheel sideways to get the roll down door closed !!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Needless to say, the loader added on a few more inches than I anticipated.

You better measure before you commit.
