B7610 or BX2350 ???

Word, no such thing as too much tractor. Get the biggest tractor that can fit your garage, then your wallet. In that order. I have 3 acres and the B7610. Some of the work that I have done would not have been possible with a BX. My buddy (also 3 acres) had the BX2200 then upgraded to a B7800.

Thanks Guys, I bought the B7610 today. It has to have the 60" mmm and a canopy mounted and will be delivered early next week. It has the LA302 FEL. That's not my main concern so I didn't upgrade to the LA352. The dealer told me the only difference was the cylinder bores. If I need the extra capacity later I guess I'll just change the rams. I really appreciate the advice and will let you know how it all works out once I've got a little seat time behind me. Claude

Congrats on the 7610.
I switched from the BX2200 to the B7510 in December.
I am very pleased with the 7510 so far.
You made a good choice going with the 7610, it is much more machine than the BX.

It is nice that someone else is going thru what I did about 4 months ago. The nice thing is that this sight has grat advice and thats what helped me make my decision for the 7610. I have five acres most in pasture (soon i hope). I went with the FEL, and recently purchased a pull behind rear discharge 60" finish mower. I can tell you that my 7610 cuts like a mad man, and I could have went with a 72". I personally dont like the MMM. Its to much of a pain in the arse. Good luck and go big.

Hello there, I'm a new guy too. I just sold my bx 2230 and bought a b7800 for all the same reasons everyone here has discussed. I mow about 4 acres with a finish mower, and needed a brush cutter for logging roads and the other few acres I try to keep clear. The b series tractors are a completely different class than the bx. The bx is good for mowing, and to be honest, you could mow a heck of a sight more with it than I did with it. But the loader was limited due to the rear end of the tractor coming up off the ground, and the clearance was non existent. The b7800 is just a powerhouse compared to what I'm used to, the clearance gets me into my hollow (steep) to cut wood, maintain logging roads, whatever. And it crawls up out of there without breaking a sweat. I think the b7610 or even the b7510 would be much better suited for your needs. Also the b series will handle a 5 foot hog with no problems. You would probably be limited in that department with a bx. If you can afford the b series, get it. I wish I did years ago.

I really appreciate all the advice and kind words. The B7610 was delivered yesterday and I promptly put 3 hrs on it. I mowed the whole 3 acre lawn after mowing a fringe around the 7 acre pasture fence. I mowed some work trails to the livestock barn too. It really does it much faster than the old mower and is much more comfortable. Only one drawback so far. The R4s dig into the lawn more than I'd like and the dealer told me he'd switch them to turf tires if I didn't like the R4s. I doubt my loader work will be heavy duty enough for it to matter and we don't often get much snowfall here in SC so I think the turfs will do fine. When I called the dealer he said he'd never had anyone say the R4s had damaged turf. It could be that I was too aggressive with my turns in some places. It also could be that the grass is not fully greened up and full yet. Early in the mowing season my lawn tends to be very weedy and dry. Later, after a few good rains it becomes fairly lush and may accept the R4s better. I'm in a small quandry now because I'd rather keep the R4s but the dealer will only switch during the first few hrs. Any tire advice out there? Thanks, Claude

By all means go with the turf tires you won't be sorry. We get plenty of snow up here and a lot of drifting out in the country and I never got stuck with turf tires. Just put it in 4-wheel drive and no problem. I did not want my lawn to get marks too, that's why my dealer recommended turf tires.

Ditto what Buckeyeman said. Get the turfs. I've been surprised by how well they work. Traction is seldom an issue.
